Tried opening via CM15 but having hard time finding the DB location.
tried the C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\FIFA 16\data
But it doesnt give me a data\db folder for FIFA 16...
Dont remember how i did this last year with FIFA 15...

Anyone who remembers the trick how to get that one visible so i can pick it up for trying to upload?

You just can convert the importent tables from fifa 16 to fifa 15 format, load it in fifa 15 database, open with cm15 ->import your cmps, convert table format back to fifa 16 and load all the stuff via db master in a fifa 16 db..

thats how I added europa league,champions league teams(missing ones like kiew,partizan etc.) and 2 leagues (3rd german, 4th german).

You just need cm15, dbm15,excel/libreoffice calc/openoffice, fifa 15database, fifa 16 database

If he have free time, he will work on CM16.
As community, if he is gonna do it, we have to help him collecting info on new compression method (chunklzma used for kits, easf ), traits and overall formulas (i've done and shared it to the forum) other info and discoveries (eg create new leagues, audio encoder for commentary etc etc), so the developing will be smooth.

If he cannot do it, someone else have to do it.
Stop asking when e if will be released. You will have news directly from him when and if he start to make it.

I'm not a developer, but I think it would be beneficial if Rinaldo made CM open source so anybody could pick it up and adapt it for when the new FIFA comes out so not all the pressure would be on Rinaldo each year, I'm sure the backend would stay mostly the same but it simply needs to recognize the slightly different format of the tables.

Would someone mind explaining to me how I can import new kits over old (not add 3rd kits or anything like that). For example, I'm just looking to import over Man Utd's current home kit. I used to do it in CM15 but that doesn't work with FIFA 16 and I don't really understand if I can do it with DBM or CG File Explorer. Thanks.

In Fifa 16, I have created 30 players in the game, reaching the limit of created players. If I wanted to add another 30 players what is the easiest way to do that. Is it it to use an editor or can you hack the 30 player creation limit in the game and make that another larger number?

You can add them directly to the database. I am pretty sure DBM 15 is able to open the '16 database. As long as nothing has changed from last year, there are three primary tables for players.

1. players

This stores all of the basic details about a player. All of their attributes. All of their demographics (nationality, dob, etc.). There are tons of columns here. Most you will know what they mean. For the ones you don't recognize, I would suggest you grab a random player from some minor league and just copy/paste their values into those columns for your players.

2. playernames

This is a remarkably simply table. The important columns are the playerid, a name and a commentaryid. In '15 the default commentaryid was 900000 I think. That just meant there was no audio for that player. They made this table because they didn't want to store in memory repetitive names. It artificially inflates the size of a game if you store repetitive information over and over and over again. This is called data normalization and understanding it can really help top pull apart why EA made their tables the way they did. It makes a lot of sense when you understand it a little.

If you want to understand how EA structures their FIFA tables, look at the Fourth-Normal form. The golden rule is, don't store the same information twice EVER!

3. teamplayerlinks

this simply links a playerid to a teamid. There are a few additional columns that are a bit obtuse, just follow the same format as another player as you're working on yours.

Trial and error is the best way to learn this stuff. But, if you get stuck and are totally clueless, feel free to drop a line.

When opening DB Master I get the following error.
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.
Data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, Position 1.
I'm trying to open these files: data/db/fifa_ng_db.db and data/db/fifa_ng_db-meta.xml.Which I extracted from FIFA 16 using File Master.

Am I missing a step, cuz it shouldnt be this difficult.

I haven't done it yet with 16, but I think the database is encrypted. I believe several users have decrypted it though. So you should be able to find the database that way.

That's my best guess. I may have a copy but look around for a decrypted database first. If you can't find it, let me know.
