Editing Player Growth

I'm trying to modify the player growth, but I'm running into problems. First of all, nobody seems to have been able to decrypt the playergrowth.ini file from the PC version. All we have is the file of beta990, who extracted it from the Xbox360 version and added a few lines that apparently exist in the PC version.

While tweaking the file works fine and just as in Fifa 14 and the changes take effect, there seems to be a bug regarding the growth of 28+ years-old players. The problem is, the Mental attributes of these players start to decrease rapidly when reaching 28 years and older. In the seasons sims I did, they lost up to -8 points sometimes.

Of course, this can't be right. No matter what I'm trying to change, however, it doesn't help. The values I'm changing are those in NORMAL_PHYS_X/Y, YOUNG_PHYS_X/Y, OLD_PHYS_X/Y and CM_PHYS_X/Y, as back in Fifa 14, this was the place to change these things (although the lines were fewer and looked differently back then).

My question is, did anyone here try to alter the player growth as well? Did you have the same problem with 28+ players and if yes, have you been able to correct it and how?

Looks like these two lines

STARTING_PLAYERS_CURVE_AGE = 28 (default is 30)
STARTING_PLAYERS_CURVE_OVERALL = 80

can be used to bypass this mental attribute decrease at least a bit. Using this prevented players aged 28 and 29 to lose mental attributes, but players aged 30 and above still lose them.

Additionally, these two lines seem to have a great effect on players who have that certain OVR (80) at that certain age and above (28+). These players use the following values in the file:

CM_SKILL_X_1 = 30
CM_SKILL_Y_1 = 96
CM_SKILL_X_2 = 32
CM_SKILL_Y_2 = 90
CM_SKILL_X_3 = 35
CM_SKILL_Y_3 = 70

CM_MENTAL_X_0 = 30
CM_MENTAL_Y_0 = 100
CM_MENTAL_X_1 = 33
CM_MENTAL_Y_1 = 100
CM_MENTAL_X_2 = 35
CM_MENTAL_Y_2 = 98
CM_MENTAL_X_3 = 37
CM_MENTAL_Y_3 = 97

This explains why very good players like Robben for example continue to improve at higher ages and only decrease slowly afterwards.
I still have to find out when and how the YOUNG and OLD values are used instead of NORMAL. That's something I can't understand yet.

Anyway, if you change

STARTING_PLAYERS_CURVE_OVERALL = 80

to a lower value (like 70), the number of players improving at higher ages and decreasing only slowly is greatly increased (since it will apply to all players with at least 70 OVR).

That being said, beta's file seems to work better than imagined, but the values still don't seem to fit PC vanilla's values.

Good work so far. Player growth is something that really bothers me this year and it's good to see someone trying to improve it (I'm utterly clueless at these type of things). Hope you continue your work on this to achieve a more realistic player growth system.

Anything more on the player growth .ini? I'm just starting to get into it and have no idea how to make it better. I want to make it so player growth on the user team relies much more on how well/often you play with them and less on the robotic growth curves.
