@ECP: GoFSH and Access Editor Utilities

Hercules

Starting XI
Dear FIFA gamers,

We're happy to inform you that with the forthcoming ECP relaunch imminent, we are providing the FIFA community with 2 new utilities for FIFA 2003.

The first, Access Editor, made by Maniac of the ECP Team and also FIFA Bosnia, is an editor for the dev_all_data.mdb file, which is used by the Official Creation Centre. Made from Access forms, it allows you to edit everything you can with simple editing of the database, but more, it has a great interface matched by no other editor alike. The program consists of a main menu, which allows the user to navigate between forms. And within each form, all functions are extremely user-friendly, with a lot of remarks and commenting, helping even the least experienced users. And for the experts, you can edit almost everything in the FIFA 2003 database, what more can you want?!

The second, a program made by Hercules, called GoFSH! (also part of ECP Works), is a *.fsh file viewer/exporter. As many in the FIFA community might know, EA Sports has implemented a new file format on many of the *.fsh shape files. Therefore, many of the previously popular programs are no longer compatible. This is where GoFSH! is useful. Although still in its early days, GoFSH! can view all *.fsh files which only has one image. These include all the kits, faces files and many more (NOTE: flags *.fsh files have more than one image, thus it is not supported yet). The user can view *.fsh files with a simple double-click and export them to *.bmp format if they wish.

With these programs released simultaneously, there is still many more to come in the immediate future at ECP. A newer version of Access Editor is already in the making, with possible new functionalities, such as face previews, added. And GoFSH! also has a second version coming soon, making it fully compatible with all *.fsh files, i.e. including flags *.fsh files. Look out for all future and current releases at our site.

You can now proceed to our DOWNLOADS area to get your copy of these tools! Any suggestions and complaints (hope not) are welcome at our new FORUM. ( http://www.fifaecp.com/forums )

How big is YOUR penis?
Dude, is there a possibility for a second version of GoFSH ? I want to be able to import images too.

Import is one thing that I don't know what to do.....sorry about that.:(

But I think this tool is already better than we've got at the moment, since you can view .fsh files much faster.

From what I've been able to read on your website, the dev_all_data file is all important for the CC look too?!? I understand it that way, that with the new file (...all_data...)you can edit it through CC??? Right? Because I found it rather discomforting to open the zip archieve and find a ...data.... file and just a readme...I thought it was a programme...does the new file change the CC in order to make it, so to say, access?

Hercules

You do not use the CC to edit data. It messes up all your rosters and causes many other problems. So what you do is, (if you have access), simply double click on the .mdb file, and then you will see a series of Access forms, which will make roster editing very easy. But then you still need the CC to install the rosters.

More details in the Access editing thread in this forum.

And always read the readme, because there's tons of useful info in there.

Thanks, but I don't want my MS Access utility messed up so it only matches that file and is unsable for all other files by using the new interface!
I'm sure it doesn't, but then explain what the **** your file does to Access, please.

Hercules

It simply applies forms to the dev_all_data.mdb file that is included and not to any other Access file! Because how can it? Different tables have different structures! The program simply makes editing rosters easier by giving it a graphical interface, so you know where to input what data, and what each value means. Otherwise, the tables would just be a whole lot of numbers....

your access editor sucks, let me explain why.

1) Read your readme file, and fix the spelling mistakes, it looks as if you rushed it

2) Remove the bugs !

I changed the home stadium of a team, and cant play in a league, because the game crashes.

3) Fix the crap ass display in the windows, its awful!

4) Add some instructions, novice's wouldn't know Carlos about what thier doing, no matter what the interface is.

This editor is VERY scratchy imo, fix the above cause i dont like it at all.

Alex's editor leaves this one for dead imo, his might take a bit of work to setup but least it works, and he can spell !

and guys, this isn't a personal crack at ya's, i am REALLY disappointed because its standard is poor.

Yeah the idea behind maniacs forms, is exactly the same as the idea behind mine (http://downloads.soccergaming.com/download.php3?id=00007646 how could i resist a plug :p)

Maniac has put a bit more time into his though, and from what ive heard it has a couple of things that mine doesnt (things that are possible with mine, and are explained in the readme, BUT arent as easy as they are with his).

These files DO NOT change access at all. They add forms to the current dev_all_data.mdb file. Forms are a way of tying all the tables and relationships up in an easy to read, and edit interface.

For basic adding and editing, of teams and players my forms work fine, and i can assure ou, that if you follow the instructions exactly you'll have no problems. They have been out for quite a while, and so have been tested by the public not just any beta testers etc. However, having said that, im sur Maniacs forms have been tested well, and work well aswell.

Cheers

Can i just say that i didnt know anything about Pauls (ie. Grassy) post before my last one.
I havent tested Maniacs db editor, at all, and so Im not going to judge it in anyway. As far as i know its a fully working set of forms for access.

Firstly, the Access Editor is not my editor, because I am working on something completely different.;)

But I will sure take your opinions very seriously and direct it to the ppl in charge. And I personally will look into the matter ASAP.

Thank you for your feedback.

Maniac, i just had a glance at ur editor, and im just curious.
The add league option, how exactly have u added this? As far as my Access experience goes, you cannot add leagues using access. If you add them as a competition you lose a current competition, and adding them as a Federation the game doesnt recognise them.

You can of course edit leagues, but i was pretty sure that adding them at this stage isnt possible.

zul-aid: Yeah that GK problem is now part of the instructions though, so as i said if u follow the instructions correctly you wont get any mistakes. The Instructions INCLUDE the info at the page: http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?s=&postid=412995#post412995 which matt has added.
That is: renaming the form "Link_PTsubform" to "Link_PT subform" once you finish the installation.

So yeah, if anyone gets my forms, PLEASE make sure you do this step after following the instructions in the readme!!

Cheers

EDIT: BTW, my forms are much smaller to download, coming in at 100kb.
Maniac, your forms can be great. They have the potential to be like mine, but just make thigs easier, make sure u follow thru :)

like alex forms and i respect his work but telling a maniac's work copy of alex one isnt right. He started on his Access editor much before Alex.

yes, I can give u my word for that. It's just that he's been busy with a lot of things lately, and we didn't want to publicise the work before it is almost ready.

Yeah, but not many ppl have had major problems with my forms, and if u do, they are only 100kb.
As for who started first...well...you really cant say. Since id used Access a fair bit in the past for various things, I made forms for my DB as soon as i started editing with Access. I made them for personal use, and ull find in early posts about Maniacs editor i said i had forms of my own that i used for personal use.

I only decided to release them after considering how to do it, whether it would help people, and the fact that maniacs was taking longer then i thought (no offence man!). So i released it...5000+ downloads later, and it pretty well cranking along, and ive had no REAL bug reports as of yet. I did release the forms with a really stupid bug picked up during final testing, but this is so easy to fix it doesnt count... (rename "link_ptsuborm" to "link_pt subform" and ur problems are solved)

As for the GK bug, only two ppl have ever reported it, and I think it is because of problems during installation, and downloading.

Anyway, thats all for now..

Cheers
