It's kind of upsetting to know that a player you've cheered for and spoke highly of over the years is a damn racist.

Oh.. I hate racism. Our players got some songs like - shot that f u c k ings nigger - against Ekranas. Is good that they do something about it I think. But if someone in my team would do something like that.. I would not respect him anymore.

Okay Roman Weidenfeller did mess up.. but dont you think this happens in all the other leagues ALL THE TIME and just goes unnoticed?

According to Asamoah, Weidenfeller called him a "black pig." This happened during the Dortmund - Schalke game.. if you dont already know, this is a local derby and both teams hate each other with a passion.

Do I believe Weidenfeller is a racist? No. Some things just slip out in the heat of the moment. He wasnt thinking and he is now getting punished for it. He can think about what he did for the next three weeks on the bench.

All I am trying to say is that this happens all the time.. but the germans are just tougher on racism than other leagues.

Oh and the president of the DFB is Dortmund's president.. he showed no compassion to Roman even though he is the president of the team that he plays for. Which is good.

:kader: Racism cannot be tolerated in football. Fair enough, things can be said in the heat of the moment, but the line has been crossed when racism is involved.

Again I agree, if he wasnt a racist or at the very least a bigot, he wouldnt have even said anything about Asamoah's race. that is the fact. You can be mad as hell, but that doesnt mean you go after somebody's race, ethnicity or religion.

    there is no excuse

what an asshole. people get mad all the time, but not everybody immediately jumps to someone's insulting someone using their race.

To be honest I think a 3 match ban isn't sufficient.

Still no excuse. The very fact that it happens all the time is a disgrace. Heat of the moment is no excuse.

I've been extremely pissed off at guys playing football and I've never once thought of calling into consideration their race. Their intelligence, their parentage, their lack of manhood, yes, but race doesn't even occur to me.

The very fact that you say something racist in the heat of the moment proves that you are a racist inside.

^agree. Racist stuff doesn't just slip out of someone's mouth if they do not have at least the slightest of racism inside of them. This guy is a racist whether he knows/admits it or not.

He could of simply said "you f*cking son of a bitch" instead and not gotten any suspension but he used the world black and that's racist. Suspension deserved.

The best thing is that Asamoah scored and had a laugh in his face. There is nothing better to do than to prove a racist **** face that his/her ignorant racism doesn't get to you. I have experience this **** and totally hate it. It would be really nice if he was not allowed to play football ever again. That's just my opinion.

This should be applied to every league. If the player is found guilty of racism, there, automatic minimum three match ban.

I'd say more than that. Drugs use only harms the individual, and that gets a year. Racism harms society.

The fact that he apologized immediately afterwards just makes it that much worse, trying to cover his racist tracks :kader:

What else was he supposed to do? His team lost 4-1 against their most hated rival but he still immediately realized what he said was wrong. Asamoah stated what happened should remain on the pitch and he hoped Weidenfeller wouldn't receive a harsh punishment. Both went out partying together three weeks ago.

According to Fifa laws a three point deduction for the club and a five match ban is the minimum.

whatever, look, I happen to know a few guys who are very very racist indeed and they are still willing to hang out with black people, as long as the relationship remains superficial, so the fact they hung out together doesnt mean he is not a racist....there is no excuse period.

Doesn't matter. He immediately realized what he said was wrong and that he was in big trouble, so he tried to do some damage control. The racism is there and came out when he was emotional.

He's still a racist pig, no matter whether he partied or not and whatever Asamoah said.

According to BILD Weidenfeller called Asamoah "gay piggy" and not "black pig" whatever...
