I agree. We can't have only positive opinions. Negative opinions are fine but I don't know how FIFA's going to improve with posts like "**** you EA". That's all I'm trying to say.

Soccer Gaming originated from a site dedicated to an EA game and its originator now works for EA. If it weren't for him and the FIFA series this site wouldn't be here. We should appreciate that. EA are real people as well and posting a whole lot of "EA sucks" posts isn't going to help them or anyone. It doesn't acheive anything.

So we must all now pay homage because the site was originally mainly for an EA game? Gimme a break:rolleyes:

EA may be real people, but as far as worrying about whether our posts may or may not be 'helping them or anyone' ...well EA have been basically ignoring their customers wishes-expressed in these forums and elsewhere-for years now. How long have we been asking for things like decent ball physics now? f*cking years and still no improvement!

I have bought FIFA games for years, but EA have lost my support. They simply seem to not give a sh*t about what people want and I can well understand the frustration that people have with them. If EA stopped making a crap product then they would stop hearing comments like "f*ck you EA", simple as that.

no, there always will be stupid 10 years kids which can nothing than after 10 min with game to go here and post "EA sux, fcuk you, I played it and it sux" etc

there always will be unsatisfied customers, there are no games which all of ppl like; EA sells many FIFA copies every year what means many ppl like their games (ppl at forums are just some percent of all customers)

I'd say: Dear Customer, if you don't like EA's way of understanding football game - don't play it, go play Football Kingdom, Wining Eleven or PES....

fifa 2005 may not be excellent, but it seems ea are on the right track. there are some definate improvements, which weren't in 2004. it may not be excellent, but it seems to be a big step in the right direction

As mayor said, my whole point was that these posts are useless to the forum. Your post is fine because you state how you feel and give reasons why.

The reason I mentioned that thing about EA is that I know that they do care about customers. This thing about how they don't care is just a myth. People love to hate EA, it's a simple as that. Any big company people love to hate. Although in big companies you get some good people and some bad people, that's how it goes. I feel for all the good people at EA... they're not all evil. The guys from EA who read this forum, do you think they care about their customers or are just here to pass time?

And the fact is, if you've played more than 10 minutes of the demo you would see the huge improvement over last year. If you play it for 5 minutes you might not see it, but over time you will. It's not PES, but for a FIFA game it's very good.

Finally, if you are not happy with the game then there are alternatives out there. The best way to show EA that you're unhappy is not to buy their game. If you have been so unhappy with EA over the past few years, really, why buy their product? Did they force you too? Just go buy something else and get on with life.

I personally love this game, the only gameplay fault I've found in my couple matches is that when I'm going forward only two players attack.

Yes, that's a pain. What you have to do is use the "trigger player runs" button. When you pass a ball with a player, if you press this button just after they've passed it then they will make a forward run. You can then try and get them involved in an attack. Do a couple of one-twos. Also, it's good to be a bit patient with attacks and switch the play. I scored a great goal off an excellent move yesterday after I switched the play.

I denfinetly agree with you AndrewC on how people tend to react towards big companies.

All this hatred towards EA smacks of underdog syndrom. Basically a game with a lesser following, develops a fiercly loyal fan base who find it necessary to promote their infatuation through derogatory comments directed at the biggest name.

Why do so many people hate Manchester United and Real Madrid? Because they are big clubs, because they win alot. People like to see their "team" win no matter what, and they'll jibe the other side in the process.

As far as the game goes, I think its great. FIFA 2005 is a massive improvement over both of last years offerings (euro 2004, fifa 2004)

Within the first minute of gameplay I thought the game was something special. Players move in a very fluid manner, you actually have to take into account your player's moment, direction etc... especially when dealing with defenders. Defending is somewhat of an artform now, instead of waiting and pressing a button and winning the tackle every time.

All sorts of moves, different first touches, the subtleties in the differences between players is great! You can feel the difference between Henry, Pires, Cole etc... Some control well, some tackle well etc... and to varying degrees. Very freeform.

Using the same engine as FIFA 2003 means that a lot of the old scripting and player movements are still there, but they have been greatly improved. THe whole shooting system is much better, the player AI is well done too. I actually deked out a keeper!

As for realism and difficulty... well, I turned on world class and it felt like I was playing against world class players. Not impossible, but very very difficult.

A game like FIFA 2005, which is realistically a role playing game with a twich gamer add on plays out like the real football matches I see on TV. Different players feel like they are supposed too, which is a relief, and I know I havn't even scratched the surface of the special moves.

With all the liscences EA has, and this wonderful looking new manager career mode I am extremely excited and can't wait to get the game.

One thing that the PES series doesn't have are all the liscences, and without them half the realism in the game is gone. EA has done well creating an immersive football game. A game I start to play and realise that I FEEL like I'm there, in the game, managing the real players, making the actual pass, cheering in the stands, I get quite emotional too. PES has never felt like that, too much is lost in translation in PES.

FIFA 2005 is much better than FIFA 2004 in every way shape or form. YES I will be buying it.

(A simple fact for PES zealots, if the game was so much better than anything out there, then you guys would never have to spam and flame EA and FIFA message boards. Because every one would be playing it... hope that is some food for thought)

yes

but there are problems..most bothersome is how people with the ball seem to be actualy faster than without the ball..and its too easy to go around circles for computer....players strengh is not utilized enough...everything else is nice...again why driblling doesn't seem to affect speed very much....

I think overall, FIFA 2005 has improved a lot since last year. First Touch is good, but I think the shooting is terrible!!

How big is YOUR penis?
Your weaker foot kick is still as strong and as accurate as your stronger feet kick . . . Realism ? Not. How many times do you see Beckham makin` an accurate pass or shot with his left ? Well so much for the authenticity again. And as for first touch, I haven`t tried the demo cos my ****ty connections, but from what I read it`s like some touch when you get the ball first time, like would you knock it, flick it, etc. Mmmm, sounds fammiliar ? Oh wait, yeah I`ve seen that kind of **** at the "other game", some, let`s say, two or three years ago . . . To add the fact that you basically can`t edit the default players in the Edit Mode for the console version adds more flavour to this joke. An Edit Mode that can`t be used to edit, only to create a new player and replace the old ones, what an irony !!!! Clap, clap !!!! Now let`s also talk `bout the kits. Most of you must`ve seen the format right ? OMG, what a nightmare !!!! I know they put in the 1GK format because they also want people who doesn`t have a CPU to coupe with 2GK to be able to play the game without slowdowns, but for God`s sake, even in 1GK they could`ve made better effort with the kits !!!!!

In summary it seems EA yet again has made football their second priority. Their other sports title if not better, are the best in the genre ( eg. NBA Live series ). It`s hard to make a football game when one doesn`t have the passion for the game itself but for the money made out of it. Yeah, a company`s goal is to make profit allright, but it`s also an ethical thing to do to bring their products at their 100 % to their customer, not some 75 % done product and then add the 25 % for the next year edition, in which they will also took away another 25 % from the previous year to be added in the next year edition ( got what I mean ? ).
