There's no hope for a big change in FIFA 2004 so stop wasting your time. EA's working on Euro 2004 and they are working on FIFA 2005. So there no chance of anything else being done for FIFA 2004....

i don't think EA Sports reads these forums but maybe they do so we don't know the truth.Maybe Matt Holme tells them some news from the forum but i'm just guessing.:crazyboy:

of course they don't read all the threads - 99% is useless talk by 10 year old american kids complaining about a sport they have never seen played by professionals, or have any knowledge about

that is why most forums are not worth reading - but surely some main ones (the official ones - top 4 in forum list) must be read

but doesn't make much difference anyway - game is just made to please those same little 10, by next year, 11 year old american kids who complain about the game although the game is made to please them by making every 50 yard shot easily escape the goalkeeper and find the auld onion bag

Wrong. I don't even know where to start with that. Yea there are alot of dumb threads but then again there are alot of people who post ignorant stuff in the same dumb threads. Am I talking about you I do not know.

No one can read every thread. The FIFA team is a huge team of people. Plenty of them, whether in their spare time or at work, browse these boards and other FIFA boards all the time. I have seen them do it.

Let's put it this way, if they (EA) were to read comment's about thier FIFA 2004 game, they would start here rather than thier own message board (THAT is where you may find the mentioned 10 yr olds)...from ALL PLACE'S - (INSERT MIRROR HERE, Shifty*ROD).

Boy Toy, you make a very pertinent statement there!

I work in the IT industry more to do with hardware and office/business solutions and I suppose the gaming side of the industry is the same thing minus the large interest in hardware.

The world over, its the 'pre-sales' which makes the business a success and not the after sales support.

EA's success in beating all comers for units bought is the pre release marketing and promotion, promises, teasers and all sorts of mouth-watering features and benefits.

EA's FIFA will always outsell every other football game, no matter how good or bad the actual game is or that of the competition, because they concentrate on shipping it to you first and foremost and have not invested in anyway in supporting it or improving the experience once its out there!

To do that would cost them time and money, a loss of their reputation and maybe people would start to realise that they are not a decent customer caring company but a very large scale unit shifting, profit making machine.

There is no point, nor any free time, to support FIFA2004 when there are 2 more marketing opportunities to be milked this year!

The same thing goes on in business, the difference is that they get sold £25,000 servers and £15,000 databases that they don't need, can't work or in a lot of cases their business cannot justify having!

At least we are only paying 30 quid out for EA's sting!

On the other hand, PES3 is not marketed properly, yet its sales are still comparable to FIFA's as its the 'known game' that those who buy it are investing in.

Konami too though, have no real support system in place, but somehow I don't feel as cheated by my PES purchase as I do with the FIFA one. I bought one for the known facts and what I was getting, the other I bought because it was sold to me since July 2003 by the videos, the screen shots, the interviews, the new web sites etc.

I shall try not to fall for the hype this year and for once I shall wait until the game is out there and the issues are posted in a forum like this. Then I will make a more informed decision as to whether or not it would be worth investing in.

I actually found this site because I read an interview where a guy from EA referred to getting input from the people posting on this site

If that answers your question ;)

So at the very least, they know it exists

I don't know if it's the good post to tell it, but for the future it will be possible to betatest the game by Matt Holme, Ariel etc, before out the demo or the final game. After that we will could play with a 80% good game.
We will not complain after and ask EA to make a patch or something else.

To Pesman: Yeah I know what U mean mate. But someway or the other EA WILL have to introduce after sales support into their marketing strategy. They can't afford to miss out on new costomers who rely on word of mouth, and after reading around on this and other forums, it seems the complains are getting more and more as the years pass. And their competitors like PES are getting better every year.

Pure bull!

If you actually look at the countries that many of the FIFA fans from this forum come from, they come from all over the world, not just the USA. There are actually more USA fans over on the Konami forum. And, FYI, the majority of American soccer fans watch the English Premier League or La Liga on TV rather than the MLs.

Congrats, you win the "most irrelevant and inaccurate prick of the year so far" award!
