CTD before games?

Hi,
does anyone know how to mend the CTDs before games? It happens every time I go to play. Just before the match loads up, the game quits. I have Win XP, but it says that it is supported, so I don't know.

Specs: XP Home, P4 2.66Ghz, GF4Ti4800SE, 512 DDR.
