A little tutorial for Online Update

Hi there, I came across something I thought I wanna share with everyone. Don't know if this was figured out before cause I did try & search but found nothing.
So here is the story... I recently tried the "Online Update" function with CM16 to update the default db to have the latest roster ect... It is very easy enough to do and I thought okay everything is fine...
But once I checked out the squads after saving & re-opening the db, I saw that most, if not all teams' bench player line-ups were "weird". Meaning that most teams had two GK's + only defenders on the bench which of course shouldn't be the case!
After an hour or so of fiddling with CM16, I seem to got a "weird" solution for the "weird" situation!lol
Here are the steps you need to follow to ensure that the "correct" players end up on the bench as was planned in the Online Update.

Be sure to download the latest squad updates via FIFA 16 before attempting the steps below

1.) Open the db you wanna edit in CM16.

2.) Go to the Teams tab which should open the 1st team in the db, by default FC Heidenheim & the go to their roster tab


3.) Click on Online Update & choose either "Rosters & Players" or "Rosters Only"

4.) Navigate to your Fifa 16 folder in Documents, then folder "0" ->Fifa16...then you'll see a lot of folders(maybe), open the folder(s) that was last modified on the same day you downloaded the latest squad updates via FIFA 16...look inside the folder for a DATA file which should be around 3540kb, that should be the correct file...Select it to import into CM16.


5.) After importing the DATA file you will get a message "Database updated with onlina data.", click on OK. DO NOT SAVE THE DB YET!!!


6.) Click on the refresh button next to the team's name (FC Heidenheim) in the top left of CM16, you'll see that the players for this team have changed/updated. DO NOT SAVE THE DB YET!!!


7.) With the team's name where you are (FC Heidenheim) highlighted in blue, either hold down the "down arrow" key on your keyboard or better yet, if you have a wheel mouse, scroll down with the wheel until you reach the last team in the db; by default (Zenit St. Petersburg). Make sure you remain on the Roster tab while doing this!

8.) After reaching the last team in the db with this method you can now save your db, close CM16 & reopen your newly updated & saved db. All the teams should now have the correct players on their benches e.g. 1 GK; 2-3 defenders; 2-3 midfielders' 1-2 strikers.

Hope this might help someone you has the same problem I had;-)

1. I have a problem with skill moves - sometimes they automatically decrease by 2 (5->3 / 4->2 ...) without changing them. I'm using moddingway mod but I still think thats the problem of CM16

2. Some overalls still calculate wrong (compared to sofifa stats). But at max by 1 point so this is not a big issue

hey guys i am having problems with cm 16 beta 3 after i load fifa 16 and select the players panel and click on the eye and generic to import files and dont see anything it gives me this error ? direct x 11 and latest framework instaled ?

Make sure you're not using squad files (matchday and so on) otherwise, the game will read from those squad files instead of reading from the main database, which is what CM 16 uses for your edits.

Also, those who use moddingway mod, make sure the db you're using to play is the one where you're doing the edits, since I believe MW mod usually has more than one db (or at least it used to)

end of stream error

Hi folks,

I have read all 55 pages and I notice that some other people are having the same problems as me, every time I try to edit a kit it gives me a cant read beyond the stream error. I dont think anyone has resolved this have they? The editor looks so amazing I am really frustrated it wont work for me, have tried the read only and run as administrator options but always the same. Really grateful for any suggestions (windows 10):

Sounds handy! I also inserted the latest squads via the online update tab in CM16. But I had too many players, players who were deleted in previous updates and they don't belong to a team, not even in free agents... Pretty annoying when I play a CM :) do you know what the problem might be?
