Bug in Specific Face option

I've found a little problem in CC2004 v1.1.
When you try to put Specific Face 0 (generic face),
you get an error:

"Please select a valid Specific ID"

...so you cant assign "generic face for this player".

CC2004 Team Management Bug

Has there been any solution to the problem of changing players in the CC2004 and not being able to move those players inside the game? They don't work in Team Management, only during the game......

i have the same problem that a bunch of people are having with the team management becoming impossible after using CC.

is there any word on a solution for this?, i think its the biggest problem CC has right now.

if its impossible to fix at least let us now we can at least play the game withoug using the CC or waiting for a fix to this bug. After all the season is about to end (only a couple more fixtures in some countries!).

PS: if there is no solution to this bug pls let us know so we can move on with the game, instead of waiting for the fix.

Can someone who has overcome the crashing porblem please write a post which Clearly breaks it down or even start a new thread with the solution. Its all getting a bit confusing here.

My guess is that the fifa.db file is corrupt. One way to find out would be if you delete the roster*.* file in the FIFA 2004 folder under My Documents. See if this fixes the problem.

If not, then its probably your fifa.db file that is causing the problem.

my player skills/abilities is not the same in CC and the game.
for example if viera has 87 in cc he is 91 in the game,
you know I can change the abilities but they are never the same in CC and Fifa???

I think that CC uses a different way to calculate the player's total ability. Check if each individual skill (acceleration, shot power, etc.) is the same in FIFA and CC.

Remember you have other attributes such as Star Player, Talent etc that also have to do with overall player stats.

The lineup problem?!?!?!

Has anyone got an answer for the lineup problem. I have played Fifa 2004 once in the past month because of this problem. It is the only sports game I have where the lineups are so messed up. I have tried to do the transfers in game, but it is impossible with the ridiculous "swap system" tha tthis game has. Why not put in a free transfer and number changing ability like in NHL 2004 built into the game. That way we would not have these silly problems of duplications and players being frozen in their roster spot. It is very annoying and if there were any other soccer game worth playing out there, I would switch!

Anyway, if anyone has an answer, let me know....if there is no solution, fine...I'll throw this piece of crap in the garbage and wait for Fifa 2005.

@ CarlosDanger - The duplication problem is probably due to previously saved games (and roster changes). For example, if you modified a given team & saved it, once you make changes via the CC editor, not only will your lineups be screwed up, but you may also see duplicate players.

My recomendation? Rename the FIFA 2004 folder under My Documents. Run FIFA and your lineups/rosters should appear the same way you had edited them in the CC.

This should do the trick. ;)

I tried this with the CC2004 on a new install of Fifa 2004 and still I have the same problem. For example, in CC2004 I put Davids on Barcelona. Then in Team Management I try to move him into the starting lineup and it does not work. He stays in his spot and the one I was trying to change goes out of the starting lineup, leaving me with 10 starters.
This happens with every change in CC 2004. Is there no solution. Fifa 2005 is coming out soon and I haven't hardly been able to play my 2004!!! Please someone answer!

When you tried this, were there any files in your FIFA 2004 folder under My Documents (such as saved games, profiles etc?)

Lets try this. Once you transfer Davids to Barcelona, leave him in the position he is in (for example reserves). Then run FIFA and see if you can change his starting position there.

Also keep in mind that there is a limit to the amount of players you can have on a given squad/team. Try to make sure the team roster has no more than 25 players.

Yes....I tried all of that. The squad only has 24 players. The player just stays in whatever position I put him in with CC2004. Any transfer works like this. My Fifa 2004 folder in My Documents in empty and I am working with a new install with the EA patch from the website. I can edit lineups in CC2004, or just do the trasfers and leave the players in the reserve, but wherever they are when I save with CC2004, they stay there....if I do a Career or a Tournament I can't move them, in Team Management I can't move them. So either they are in the starting lineup right away and stay there (even if they are injured or have a red card) the only way to move them is during a match.....so if they are injured or suspended I end up playing with 10 men. Any other suggestions?

This is a very interesting problem. Since all you are doing is making roster changes try an alternate method. Use something like the ECP DBEdit (www.fifaecp.com). DBEdit should let you do the same thing (transfer players, fix lineups etc). See if this solves the problem.

Note: Make sure you use the original db files from the FIFA CD. If you made any changes with CC, DBEfdit will have problems with the team names (in other words, you wont see the team names, just the players when you expand the view). DBEdit will modify all your db files, where CC will only make changes to the DB of the language it is installed in. For example, since I have an English install of FIFA on my machine, CC will modify only my ENG.DB
