The competition is a celebration of the centenary of CONMEBOL and the Copa América, and is to be the first Copa América hosted outside of South America.

The tournament will be the 45th edition of Copa América since its inception in 1916. It will be held as part of an agreement between CONMEBOL (the South American football confederation) and CONCACAF (the football confederation for North and Central America and the Caribbean) as a special edition between the usual four-year cycle, and will feature an expanded field of 16 teams (an increase from the usual 12), with all ten teams from CONMEBOL and six teams from CONCACAF.

USA were surprisingly opening favorites by the bookmakers, half-time score has almost put paid to that.

I have a little bet running with a few matches of this first round, didn't hesitate to go for Colombia here. USA really look harmless, not even the home advantage is going to do much for them much in this Copa.

BTW what the hell is Cardona doing in Mexico? Needs to get his ass in a good team in Europe. Such composure, what a player.

Someone needs to let me know these things so I can make a bet. USA is awful, manager is awful, no one has lost faith for some reason.

Mexico looking legit. Very dinamic and creative, pressing hard and all over the field.

Uruguay ain't usually no picnic even without Suarez but they are being completely runover. A man down too, game over I'd say.

Wow Uruguay certainly got back into the match, got to admire they're spirit. Rolan's finish earlier was pretty weak, that was a badass counter.

Uruguay might very well take this, 10 x 10 now and the morale boost gained from the equalizer can do it for them.

So Uruguay are only competitive playing with 10 man and being a goal down :|
Good effort by them anyway, but Mexico woke up in time to clinch this.

Good game (Y)
