Hi,

im just back from a long long absence and just got my hands on FIFA 11. I know it may be not worth it since FIFA 12 is on its way but i need it to catch up and understand the transition better so i can resume my modding. Anyway, my first issue is with the controller settings. Seems pretty different from the last FIFA and i dont quite like it, it used to be much simpler. I have an Xbox logitech controller and it seems like whenever i change something at the attacking buttons the defending buttons get changed as well. Cant they be changed independently? im used to set the same button as pass and switching players but now i cant do that...

Why does EA always screw up something with every new release? they always end up improving something but messing up something else on the other hand.

Do you change controls in fifaconfig.exe or in the game?
I sometimes play with PS2 Controller and its very easy to adjust.

In the game. I didnt know you could do it somewhere else. Is it possible?

EDIT: i found the fifaconfig.exe you say, thats a nice option however thats not exactly my problem. I know i can assign buttons to moves, the problem is that i cant assign attack moves without altering defensive moves as well. Lets say i want to assign button A to pass at the attack screen and the same button also to switch player at the defense screen. I cant, because when i assign the A button for passing at the attack screen, and then i go to the defense screen and assign for to switching players the passing goes to another button automatically so you cant have the 2 moves executed by the same button which is retarded because in older fifa versions it was always possible. I hope there is a way to fix this.

Yes. Go in directory where you installed FIFA 11 and search for fifaconfig.exe (it's in "fifasetup" folder), run it and go to Game Settings, choose "Controller" and adapt it as you like!

Ok, now I get it what you mean.
But it looks like it's not possible to change that, it's always rearranged by default/classic.
I just tried it and it's always backed as default. So you cant have A for passing in attack and switching player in defence, cause A will in defence always be for pressing (1st player pressing). That's bad, and I remember that in previous FIFA's it was possible to change that, it was in the game and it was very easy to adjust. But now they forgot about this.
You can only hope that this could be done in next FIFA.
