CONCACAF and the CONMEBOL

can somebody pls explain to me what's the deal with america having two football confederations?, i think it's making a disservice to those nations.

i mean look how strong the CONMEBOL teams are (Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador) and how weak the CONCACAF teams are (Mexico, USA, etc)

they should have just one confederation like the rest of us, there a lot of CONCACAF teams who would never play a world cup if there were only one american confederation.

They're two different continents...

And convining them would still need to give an extra 2 spots, and that would be enough for US/Mexico to qualify. So your argument is pointless.

America is subdivided in North and South America, that's why there are there are two confederations CONMEBOL and CONCACAF

i didnt know America was two different continents nowadays

still the concacaf teams are weaker than the conmebol teams, don't you think it will better serve the concacaf teams to play better teams through qualifyings so they get better?

this makes no sense thats like saying since europe is divided in such and such way, like for example eastern europe, they should break away from the uefa.

no sense at all dude

More competetive, yes. But I think if they were to be convined they'd have to get at least two slots. Eitherway, the CONMEBOL has the two giants (Argentina & Brazil), and sold teams, but they're about same level as Mexico/US is, more or less (ex. Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Uruguay).

It would seem a lot better, but in reality it wouldn't really change anything, unless it really bugs you that Trinidad & Tobago and Costa Rica qualified from the CONCACAF, because US and Mexico are more than deserving of those qualification spots.

I'm pretty sure Australia is not a continent, that pic sucks :p
Yeah, but who cares about those little islands anyway?

I actually just noticed it said Australia and not Oceania after you posted :(

North and South America are 1 continent. They are artificially divided at the panama chanal but that is not a natural waterway.....therefore the argument for them being merged stands.

uhm i don't know the USA and Mexico seem to play really decent during their wcq but cant do the same at the big stage, just look at ecuador isn't it their 2nd wc?, and they're playing really good football, paraguay during the 98 wc made us suffer until Blanc made it for us.

the way i see it is that the only way to get better is to play better teams, and lets face it, USA and Mexico playing each other is not the way to get better.

i'm not trying to dis any of the teams in the concacaf but after watching Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina, and then watching Mexico, USA and Costa Rica.

i mean USA showed heart against Italy, but that was it.

Mexico in their 2nd game seemed totally out of steam.

Costa Rica only had Wanchope.
