Computer not recognizing Logitech Gamepad

I bought a Logitech USB Dual Action gamepad but I'm having problems installing it. When I plug it into the PC, the red light on the controller works but the PC (XP) doesn't recognize the controller at all. It doesn't even pop up the 'new hardware found' or plug/play thing. There wasn't a CD or anything included with the controller so I downloaded the newest driver for it from Logitech's site but still no luck. Any way to manually install it?

Under Device manager, on Human Interface Devices, it shows "Logitech Virtual HID Device" but I'm not sure if this is related. I've tried this on two computers, no luck on either one.
