Paul Chryst, "offensive genius", must be on the TCU payroll. Montee Ball and John Clay up the middle was UNSTOPPABLE today. Every carry was 4 yards minimum. And yet, in the second half until our final drive, Chryst went pass happy and called a bunch of off-tackle and sweeps. Inexcusable. That defense should be livid because they did everything they had to do to win.

You know, I predicted a 2-3 Jan 1 for the Big 10(let's face it, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State didn't even have half a chance, unless they fell to the Alamo Bowl, of winning a bowl game) ---- the 2 Ws being Northwestern(with Shifty Persa, ofcourse) and ......

.....your Wisconsin Badgers. Infact, I predicted that you guys would score 30+ points and win by atleast 12. Dominated time of possession, dominated the running game, and just about even in passing including CRUCIALLY no interceptions.

I watched every second of it and just could not believe it when the game ended. The score was not indicative of the game. Very disappointing end result.

So rich Rod is finished at Michigan. Let's see now.....

Jon Gruden: 4-5 years before he feels the itch to get back into the NFL. Let's face it, he's an NFL guy.
Jim Harbaugh: Apparently said no. He would be the best candidate. Even if he is brought in, same as above....he WANTS to coach in the NFL.
Les Miles: Not going. Not nearly as hot a commodity as he would have been in late 2007/early 2008.
Ralf Friedgen: Can't Argue with a conference coach of the year. But just doesn't quite seem like the kind of guy who would fit in at Michigan.
Mike Leach: HAHAHAHAHAHA! The Big-10 would chew him up and spit him out.
Brady Hoke: The guy from SDST. I don't know what's so special about this guy. He's not even a Michigan man. Apparently, he's the frontrunner.
Greg Schiano: A strong candidate in late 2007/early 2008. Now, not so much, An option, though...although unlikely to be even considered.

Other burning questions:
1. Will Denard Robinson leave to join RR at Pittsburgh?
2. Will Devin Gardner transfer......he was a RR guy. Not a pocket passer.
3. How does it feel to have your plan to change the nature of Big-10 football backfire in your face? RRod was supposed to be questioned by so many people(rivals) because they were scared of how good he was going to be in the Big-10.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
4. Don't you wish you had kept Lloyd Carr?

Wisconsin lost our D-Coordinator to the HC position at Northern Illinois, and now it looks like OC Paul Chryst and O-Line Coach Bob Bostad are leaving for Texas. This is a real make-or-break off season for the Bret Bielema era. If he doesn't get it right we could be mediocre or worse for many years. In a perfect world we get Randy Shannon (there have been rumors) for defense and Darrell Bevel (QB of 1994 Rose Bowl winning UW team; might lose his job with the Vikings) for offense.

To be honest I don't think any of the guys you mention are the kind of guys I would hire at Michigan. If I was David Brandon I'd look at Bielema (hopefully he won't) and maybe Mike Sherman. To be honest I'm just not sure there are that many top up and coming coaches out there, but I think Mike Sherman would be money at Michigan; if he ever got someone like Luck/Brady and could run a west coast offense it would be unstoppable. I mean, he was successful with the Packers and now he's turned around Texas A&M.

Also, I think you obviously got to look at Gary Patterson, but his base D and personal schtick seems to be that 4-2-5 defense which I would never allow into the Big Ten (Dick Rod's 3-3-5 didn't exactly work out), and Chris Peterson.

Sherman would be a good choice. I was contemplating putting Randy Shannon's name on the list but Ron English(former Def Co-ord) would then become another name worth mentioning and I don't think that either would get it done at the head coaching level in the Big-10 just yet.

Patterson isn't going to leave until he's got atleast perfect season in the Big East and a shot at the national title. He's got a choice between a free ride in the Big Least or starting at the bottom in the much tougher Big-10. I would say the same thing for Peterson. They probably won't be too interested in the job.

I was actually thinking the new Michigan Coach might get English to come back as Defensive Coordinator. He has won 2 games at Eastern in 2 years and it wouldn't surprise me if he just wants to get out of there.

Hi everyone. I'm Jenn and I'm a new member of the forum. I just thought I would say hello and introduce myself to everybody. I did it here because I will possibly spend a great deal of time on this section fo the board. So, with that having been said, it's nice to meet everyone :) yeast infection

In that case, you got any thoughts on the Cotton Bowl coming up tonight? I always like watching this bowl.

So Jim Harbaugh goes to the NFL. I'll give him 4 years max before the 49ers decide to move on.

Andrew Luck's decision is a mistake because:
1. Sam Bradford decided to come back after his record breaking season[SOURCE] and did ****-all in his final year.
2. Risk of injuries...just ask.....Sam Bradford
3. His genius coach has left him!

Correct me if I'm wrong: Sam Bradford went #1 overall and will be rookie of the year.

Yeah, what a huge mistake by him.

When he went back to Oklahoma, did he accomplish anything that he didn't in the previous season?i.e. win a national championship? No. He was ready for the NFL, just like this guy. There was only one place for him to go....straight down, just like this guy.

Although, I will give you one thing....Andrew Luck is a lot tougher than Sam Bradford. And he is the best QB to have come out of college football since Peyton Manning.

Miami(OH) QB Austin Boucher, after being named MVP of the GoDaddy.com Bowl, gets a visitor at the trophy ceremony:

Disagree man, they were both redshirt sophomores and I think QBs need 4 years in college to hone their skills before their are thrown to the wolves in the NFL.

Yeah... I don't exactly see the downside. Luck, barring a career ending injury, will be the #1 pick in 2012 draft. Plus, who can pass up free college ass?

Money-wise, it's questionable, but I don't blame him.

ShiftyPowers

It's really not even questionable money wise. Odds are there will be a rookie scale for guys who get drafted this year because the CBA ends in March. Yeah he misses one year of income, but I think becoming a better QB is much more valuable in the long run than getting that second contract a year quicker. Top QBs get their contracts renewed all the time anyway to help with the cap and they pocket a **** load of signing bonus every time they do it.

Also: Luck is realllly good. Dilfer (who definitely knows what he's talking about) has said he's the best QB prospect since Elway, and what do we know about QBs who are considered to be really good? They can refuse to play for a team. Elway refused to play for Baltimore, Eli refused to play for San Diego. If, for example, Luck came out this year, he could simply refuse to play for Carolina and then maybe San Fran works out a trade for him (probably their 1st and 2nd).

So as it turns out, Oregon 2010 was just like Oklahoma 2008, from an offensive point of view....both relied heavily on rhythm. If you(an SEC team) distupt that rhythm, they will not know how to adjust.

Stanford was the place for Chris Petersen. His Offensive Co-Ordinator left for Texas and his team will be in a bit of a rebuilding year. Now was the time to jump ship. He has a connection to Oregon so perhaps he didn't want to go to a conference rival of theirs, but that's not enough of a reason to turn it down. He should have gone.

I was thinkkng about the pre-season top 25 and many people have Alabama at #2 behind Oklahoma. Naturally, the first thought was who was going to replace Mark Ingram at RB and obviously Trent Richardson came to mind. Then I started thinking of who came before Ingram....Glen Coffee.

I remembered him with the 49ers but hadn't heard his name too much after his rookie season.

Glen Coffee retired during the 2010 pre-season:

Alright we're back for another year! And about a month into the season already, heh.

Wisconsin looks like bonifide National Title Contenders if we can get by Nebraska at Camp Randall this weekend. The only other games on the schedule that concern me are at Michigan State (lost to Notre Dame hahaha) and at Ohio State (Braxton Miller is going to get crushed just like Denard against Wisconsin's D). It's possible, especially considering Oregon will probably beat Stanford, and only one team can come out of that SEC West unbeaten.
