Well I'm over here in the US, waiting for my copy of CM4 to arrive, I must say I'm a bit skeptical of it and I may stick with CM 01/02. My question is regarding the editor in CM 01/02, I've never used it before and I was wondering if I did make some changes will that effect games I have already saved? And can you transfer players in the editor? I was thinking of putting together a dream team for fun. Thanks.

Thanks boys, where would I get that other editor by the way? I was just thinking of making all my players at Liverpool have 20's across the board, maybe bring in some players like Viera, Beckham, Giggs, Kluivert for fun but if you fellas think that's too much I'll certainly believe you. You could make all your players 20's. I don't think that would crash it. It's more likely to be editing leagues , deleting important players ect.

Yeah, that's pretty safe. I can't absolutly garuantee nothing will go wrong but it's unlikely. Doesn't make for much of a challenge though, does it?

For pre-game editing use the one that came with the game, for saved games the one linked to above.

save it in a different folder, be sure it's a newly made, empty one, as it generates more than just the index.dat
so start up the editor, save as index.dat in a different folder.
note that the editor cannot load the index.dat you put in the new folder. it can only open the one in the original folder. So if you want to edit that one, you'll have to save the edited database into a different new folder

No not new to the game, CM01/02 was my first and I have fallen in love with it. The CM4 download was unconvicing to me to say the least. Now Ruud, what you're saying is that I open the editor, save the original database in a new folder as it is...basically just a second copy...then edit the database as i want, save it as index in the champ man folder that the game will read and ill be set?
