o Play head-to-head with other real-life managers
o Experience absolute realism with only 1 of each team / player
o Challenge your mates and their teams in "Buddy Leagues"
o Build your reputation and career to ultimately manage the biggest clubs in Europe

No, it's a completely stand alone game. It's also developed by a different company (Jadestone) then CM5 (BGS).

<edit> Btw, I take a certain interest in this game, but not to the extend of caring. Mostly because it's CM-related. Never going to play it though. If a game goes online, it must be free. An entry fee ok, but I don't like any future payments needing to be fulfilled, even if it's just 4 quid a month. </edit>

totally agree Ruud, i can understand maybe a £3 admission fee, but thats it, monthly payments is forcing you to keep playing even if you dont want to, i cant REALLY see this doing amazingly well for Eidos/BGS

Might as well make this the CMO sticky.

Anyway: CM Online has gone operational yesterday.

Champ Man Online rates

CM-Online is a stand-alone massive multiplayer online football management simulation. As well as testing your managerial skills against thousands of human opponents, the game offers a “buddy league” mode that lets you compete in a league against just your friends.

CM-Online provides the same realism and depth that have become hallmarks of the Championship Manager series. Choose to manage a club from one of six national leagues (England, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Germany and France) dealing with everything from transfers and tactics to training. New leagues will be added and the game will be continually updated to reflect changes in the real-world of football. You can also be kept informed of your team’s progress at all times via SMS. Within the game, users are grouped together in separate “worlds” meaning that there can only ever be one of each player and club in each individual world.

CM-Online is about competition. For the first time prove just how good you are as a manager. Facing the same constraints as in reality, success is down to how you interact and negotiate with other human managers:

• For the first time take the total Championship Manager experience online
• Play head-to-head with other real-life managers
• Experience absolute realism with only one occurrence of each team / player per ‘world’
• Challenge your mates and their teams in “Buddy Leagues”
• Build your reputation and career to ultimately manage the biggest clubs in Europe

Contrary to popular belief, the game actually took off quite well! :)

Right now CM-Online is looking for affiliate partners looking to make some money off their website. If you own a website and don't mind an extra paycheck every month, please contact [email protected]

Btw, quite a lot has happened in a year and a half, and the biggest release yet to come is October 30th.

Ah yes. You can play for free now! Almost forgot :)
