Basically i need a BRILLIANT Left Back, im fed up with Riise's under par performances.

Im in 2008, ive got 40m to spend, who in peoples opinions is the best in the world?

And dont anyone say Roberto Carlos

With 40 million, go for Bouma, Evra or Zauri.

Or ofcourse Dede

Or you could try somebody from your youthsystem (You should have one) I always like to get talents from my youth in first team

On my Man United team I bought Chivu , I think you can get him with that but he starts out with some bad ratings and then gets real good once he gets on your team. i know this is a big name though

Zauri is good, ill have a look

Not sure about Chivu, hes not good enough going forward.

I have one he's british and he's awesome. he should be just ok in 2008, in 2010-11 he will be first team for sure. I dont rememeber his name.... :P
