I would expect an intelligent Swiss person to have at least a working knowledge of French, German and English (Swiss is technically "Swiss German", although i don't know how different they are, or if people consider themselves bi-lingual if they speak both). It would have taken him an actaul effort to learn Swedish though, so good on him.
