Another game, another three points.

Liverpool in second, that snuck up on me, but we are top :ewan:

I hear Crespo will be available for the Liverpool game.Maka is still out though.Robben is in of course.I thought he had a good game at the week end and showed plenty of the old fire and tricks a plenty. He's looking good.
Both managers have been playing down the end result, both teams having already qualified.Jose says its more important to beat Wigan at the week end than to beat Liverpool.I guess it really wont make much difference who tops the group anyway, because from here on in,there wont be any obvious pushovers left to meet.Still i suppose we should make it another win after drubbing them 4-1 earlier in the season....just to be consistant huh? :)

Rob, you changed your avatar. I fear change :(

As you say pete, Robben seems back to his old self, at least he did from the clips ive seen of the weekend. Im glad to hear that Crespo will be ready to go, as Didi seemed pretty wasteful against Boro.

I think there is more on the line than we tend to thing against the hubcaps, but not as one might think. Getting second will almost be preferreable to getting first because it means that we cannot be drawn against either Madrid or Juve/Bayern. Granted, Barca would be a nightmare scerario to tackle again if we came second, but alot of the major forces seem stuck as runners up in groups.

Taken on the chest.......90 degree turn.......hit first time.......half volley in at the far post......SUBLIME......... :rockman:

The Zola avatar was awesome and this is just as good. You never get bored of watching a goal like that man.

About tonight.....Terry and Robben are one yellow card away from a suspension, that would rule them out of the first game in the next round.Bearing that in mind,i wonder if Jose will risk putting them out tonight.Benitez is leaving out Alonso for just that reason.Crespo is not guarranteed to be fit as yet but we will know more as the kick off gets nearer.I hope Didi is not as wasteful as he was against Bolton if he plays tonight. He needs to be more lethal in front of goal..He's always in the right place at the right time but his finishing needs imrovement.Something we are all aware of i guess. Can't help liking the bloke though........... :)

Better IMO if Terry gets suspended for the first leg of the 2nd round, then later on when it could be VITAL.

I was expecting that and fair do's to you but in Parker's defence he wasn't booked for the challenge despite being two footed because the ref deemed the intention was to win the ball which he did if i might add.

Anyway a change of avatar is probably in order. :)

Essien is obviously our version of Vieira or Keane, and he is only 22. His game has the edge and skill, he just needs to learn restraint, and that boy will be a legend

I know I was an adimant defender of them, and I still wish they were blues, but now I can see why Jose felt Tiago and Parker were expendable

Completely agree. Now hes going to have to really watch it.

Looking to who we might face in the knockout stages
-Barca (worst case scenario, in my opinion)
-Juve (worst case scenario 1b)
or Bayern (not a good prospect at all)
-Milan (also very bad)
-Inter (bit better)
-Lyon (not too bad)
-Villareal (best case scenario, nothing against them)

kinda makes me wish we hadve really gone after the hubcaps today

Hey, TBB:

I noticed that you got rid of the a in "The". :p
do you mean like 'ThaBlueBalla'? Cause I never actually had it like that: one 'er' to 'a' slangization is almost too much for a whitey like myself

My take on teams we could face.

-Barca (bring them on, No Xavi, We would beat them)
-Juve (stay away from them, want them later)
or Bayern (not the same Bayern as old)
-Milan (slow, would kill them on the counter, and they lack width)
-Inter (stay away, just unpredictable)
-Lyon (stay away)
-Villareal (please, bring them)

In order, teams I want

Villareal
Bayern
Milan
Barcelona
Inter
Lyon
Juventus
