No. Lampard wants to play and he must play. That kind of resting of players can prove dangerous when the league is still there to be won. Its not like playing a CL game in a group were you have qualified.

Any such content that leads to a dropping of points is unacceptable, we are Chelsea and we are ruthless.

Yes, Lampard must play because he is my captain for my fantasy league team. You guys can ask Sir Ferguson himself about rotation or the Tinkerman himself, your former manager Claudio Ranieri, the one with the Italian english.

Everton get a penalty due to a tackle by Wright -Phillips.Everton score 1-0.
I think they will be sorry that they scored first.....you know what usually happens next.....Everton very physical though.2 Chelsea players already had to change shirts because of blood........early days still....... :)

Lampard will play till injury forces him out, and until that time, he will go for the record. To have such a warrior, with such skill coming out of our midfield (I dont wanna say he "runs" it) compared to a glass player like Gerrard, well, that is truly being blessed.

Is that from the Manchester Buccaneers blog?

anyway, the game....

Only say the last third of the first half. Its on 'soccer' for pplive if anyone has that.

Everton seem to be playing take and hoof, and any attack they get their toes to gets the ball back in the chelsea half in a few seconds. But Bolton were just as diciplined and determined, and they were carved open by the skill on our side. Already Frank, Joey and Essien have shown a few streaks of individual brilliance.

I think it might be time for Jose to fire up his lungs and get yelling in that dressing room. Cahill has been subbed off injured, so hopefully their midfield runs short on organization and rythm.

On a lighter note, the new kit doesnt half bad with the dark shorts. I think those "half collars" look a little silly though

not a good first half by chelsea, wright phillips have a poor first game. poor first touch and the clumsy challenge concede the penalty. chelsea was totally outclass by everton physically in fact everton was do nothing but keep playing long ball to avoid chelsea get more possesion on ground

what mourinho would do in the half-time..this is interesting :)

i bet they going to continue their physical football plus pull everyone back and bunker their penalty box

They were totally outclassed physically? I didnt need to see the whole first to see thats not right at all. Our boys were in there and winning challenges, even though the damn ball looked like never touching the ground at times.

We have to come out strong, and determined to decide the match on the ground. Everton dont have the skill to stop us everywhere.

Wow, Drogba is staying in. Didnt see that coming

OOOoohhh Frankie boy

What - a -goal (H) He struck it so powerfully, I didnt think it had a chance of going in

The comeback machine is well on schedule....

I just recently noticed that Huth was in the backline :|

Guddy is warming up. Perhaps its curtains for Del boy again?

Essien with a decent chance, drogba yellow

Drogba goal disallowed for offside .Drogba was not offside.Gudjohnson was offside but was nowhere near play.......robbery

We are holding up play entirely around their box: I have confidence that Robben will be on soon, and we will turn something from this posession

I feel safe in the knowledge, though, that if one of our players gets a penalty, they will refrain from getting cocky/cute/arrogant like certain braindead gooners, and will put it where it belongs

Guddy, wasted a decent chance :nape:

Robben is on for Joe: wrong decision, in my mind

Starting XI
I know: good banter never hurt anyone :ewan:

Big Hernan is on for Drogba. We've got 20 minutes to make this right, lads

by the way, what the hell are the Goodison crowd so uppity at? Every 2 minutes some decision or non call inspires a chorus of boos :|
