ESPN is saying that you guys are readying a record bid for F9T, supposedly 3 players plus 40 million.

But then again, ESPN had reported a few weeks ago that you had already reached a pre-contract with Aguero...

Congrats on your double by the way, you were the deserving winners of both competitions.

Thats true, but in the other hand, maybe we will win the WC without him, cause Ballack has this shadow on him of the eternal runner up.....So many finals...so few cups

That's not his fault as its proven with the amount success he's had here at Chelsea.

He didn't play in the 2002 WC Final, his Leverkusen team got undone by Zidane's spectacular volley in the 2002 CL final, 2008 CL final was a slip away, and Spain were always favourites to win the Euro 2008 in that final.

All in all I don't believe in bad luck, its better he helped his teams reached all those finals(even if he didn't win most of it) than not be able to step in a final of a major tournament at all.

Cheers for that cfdemarco.

Whoops my bad, I said Ballack when I meant Deco. I think Ballack will agree a new contract with us, as will Joe Cole I'm sure. We know Deco wants to go back home as does Belletti. I'm guessing the other two might be Ricci and Paulo.

I love having Ricci at the club. Sure he has had a bad season injury wise but he is still an incredible force to have in the squad. I'd like him to stay anyhow.

3 players and 40 mill for Torres? I bloody hope not. For a start I can't stand the guy however good some people think he is, and secondly I wouldn't want Chelsea to give Liverpool anything that might help them out of the sh!t. Harsh I know, but that's how I feel about it.

Don't wanna see Ibrahimovic at the club either( another piece of crap gossip). Never did see why he gets the attention that he does. Very average player. He wouldn't last long at the Bridge anyway. The fans will soon tire of his underachieving self.

I saw an interview with Chris Foy the day before the Final, and he stated that he desperately hoped that it wouldn't be his name that made the headlines in the papers on Sunday morning.

It was very obvious at the time that he was sh!tting it, and the fact that he allowed the Portsmouth players to assault our players continuously throughout the game, without sending any Pompey players off for their dangerous and intentional fouling, confirms what a bottler he is.

Ballack said the same thing yesterday. He was disgusted that Foy by his refusal to punish the offenders, gave the green light to Portsmouth to do whatever they wanted to our players. As the game went on the tackles (if you can call them tackles), got more and more dangerous.

Well all I can say is that I hope dirty little scumbags like Brown end their careers rotting in the lower leagues with Portsmouth. Grant needs to get over himself too, because he is becoming very annoying indeed.

Carlo is ready to extend his contract (Y)

About Torres, I just don't see the sense in you guys going after him. Of course he is an elite player, but you guys scored a record number of goals this year, offense was never really an issue.

Oh come on, he won 3 doubles with Bayern before going to Chelsea which is much more that he's won with Chelsea. In fact, as far as the Premiership goes, Ballack kind of brought a bit of a curse to West London when he arrived in 2006.

Torres wants Champions League football. Liverpool won't play Europe next year. So why stay at Anfield?

Yes, I can see his desire in wanting to leave, but that does not explain Chelsea's desire to sign him, or at least it doesn't explain their apparent willingness to splash 40 million plus 3 players on a striker that is already 26 and gets hurt about 3 times a season on average.

Gosh, aren't you guys a superstitious lot. :innocent_smile_1:

Like I said, his first season with us was when Ronaldo had his breakthrough year(but we still managed a domestic cup double) and Ballack was missing for the 2nd half of that season.

His second season saw him come to form but we was going thru managerial changes and the club were devastated by Mourinho's departure.

Last season, his third, Scolari did a horrible job in controlling the players which led to another managerial change and it was too late to do anything about the league.

Regardless, I suppose you guys(German NT) have sufficient cover footballing-wise(Frings for example) but his leadership in the German NT is irreplaceable. Nevertheless, I'm sure he'll be involved ala Beckham somehow.

I'm talking about right now. Doesn't matter what he might have done in the past, that is history now. His best is behind him, and that's why he doesn't interest me at all when his name is linked to my club.

I've never been much of a fan of his to be truthful, so excuse me if I don't kiss his ass huh? (Y)

in the past? isn't everything in the past, if it is not in the immediate present? leaving semantics aside, I think we can both agree, for our respective reasons, that we'd rather not want Zlatan move to Chelsea ...

yeah, that's true ... if only it weren't the case that 5 out of the current starting XI weren't financed by his transfer ...

Ballack could stay with us for another year or so, he claims that his first option is Chelsea.

Source: http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/news/newsid=1213872/index.html#ballack+ill+back+germany

Germany captain Michael Ballack insists his international career is not over, despite being forced to miss the FIFA World Cup™ due to injury.

Ballack picked up an ankle injury in the FA Cup final after being fouled by Portsmouth's Kevin-Prince Boateng and has been told he will not be able to play again for at least two months. That diagnosis ruled him out of the FIFA World Cup, but it will not bring his international career to an end at the age of 33.

"I won't let my international career come to an end because of a foul like this," he said. "I never said that I would retire after the World Cup. I want to continue playing at the highest level and I will consider things in calm over the next few weeks."

Ballack's future for Chelsea should also be resolved in the next few weeks and he is optimistic that a new deal will be reached with the Premier League club. "Chelsea are absolutely my first option," he told Germany's Bild newspaper. "We are in contact with the club. The coach first of all wants to discuss things internally and then he will approach the players in a week."

First, Ballack must somehow come to terms with the fact he will miss what would probably be his last chance to become world champion for Germany due to a reckless foul. "I gave everything for the goal of South Africa and now the World Cup has been taken away from me in a brutal way," he said. "It is bitter to be hacked down in such a way in the last game of the season. It hurts."

While Ballack considers his own future, the national team coach Joachim Low is pondering not only who should take Ballack's place in his team, but also who should wear the captain's armband. Ballack, who has flown to Germany's training camp in Sicily "to be part of the family" and "to help me come to terms with this blow quicker", had a few words of advice for the coach.

"Schweini [Bastian Schweinsteiger] has got to do it now and take on more responsibility," he said. "He is self-confident and has the class. I don't see anybody else who shows such a presence and sets the tone like him.

"As for the captain, I don't want to add to the speculation - it is hard enough for the coach. There are (Philipp) Lahm, Schweini and (Miroslav) Klose. Miro has had an unfortunate season, but he has a high standing in the national team. His experience is important. And, being captain could give him a boost."

If he is to take a rumoured pay-cut, I'm all for having a player of his quality in our squad. With both Essien, and Mikel injured this season I thought he did a decent job coming in as cover.

Yeah I agree Zak, he did well for us this season. He's a rather understated player I think. He rarely stands out while others are banging in goals and the like, but he is solid in midfield. I don't think Carlo has given him the nod to roam forward and get involved high up the pitch, which would account for that I guess.

If he stays I am more than happy with that.
