No mate. He might have scored a hat trick but I have to admit he still does not convince me.

Let me see him do that a few more times. Let him show some consistancy and then maybe, just maybe I might alter my opinion of him. Not yet though.

To be honest, all his goals were tap ins (one was offside), that I could have put away with ease. He still made too many sloppy mistakes and gave the ball away much too often. He still has something to prove to me.

On the plus side pete, at least we've kept him instead of going for Adebayor, as said by the media scum a few months back.

Alex is definitely a monster, gave Jones no sniff at goal whatsoever.

For the 2nd goal, it was offside, but I guess it didn't make any difference on the result.
We completely played Sunderland off the park. Lets hope for another 5-0 win against another Northeast club.

Man what a day. We win 5-0. Arsenal lose 2-1 and Spurs beat Liverpool 2-1, and I've just got back from having the best pollo carbonara that Hertfordshire can offer. Magic day.

I love it when a club like Liverpool begin to brag about how great they are, and that they fear nobody, as did Gerrard, Carragher and Benitez this week, and then a bottom club like Spurs bites them on the arse.

I thought they might have learned a lesson from Arsenal this week when it comes to shouting your mouth off before a game. Couldn't have happened to more deserving people in my opinion.

I think Roman targeted us to be a self-providing club by 2011, but its looking unlikely know, and even if the debt goes to him, financially it is a concern. But i reckon its not as big as a problem as the media are making it out. The staff released were simply because there were too many overpaid staff members that we didn't need.

Well the report is definitely true and reliable considering its BLOOMBERG who took part in it. Russian Oligarchs like Abramovich were leveraging like crazy, meaning that they were using credit to bet on future price rises to make them money. Well look at whats happening. Every investor that did these actions is now screwed, I mean look INVESTMENT BANKS went bankrupt due to these derivatives and these banks have trillions of dollars in assets.

Well Arsenal will be happy considering their Russian lost tons of money and it seems he won't be making a run at buying the Gunners any time soon.

I am really worried, guys you can't argue against this, this is real stuff, this credit crisis has hit people hard. Of course every EPL owner has gotten hit but by this report it is the Russian Oligarchs who have gotten hit the hardest. .

Add that to the fact that our Academy is now bursting at the seams with young talent for the future, and it is even clearer why we no longer need scouts in almost every country in the World.

Pede I believe your a bit too optimistic.

The Russian economy is going through its worst period in a long time, the Russian exchange itself has dipped about 61% which has wiped off tremendous amounts of assets, in addition Putin has a lot of leverage on these oligarchs and in fact has these oligarchs investing within the exchange to help the economy.

Also lets remember the financial instrument of using derivatives has a lot to do with this crisis and thats why you are seeing a lot of these prestigious investment banks folding over.

Main conclusion the bastards got greedy and in turn this is what happened with the Russian oligarchs they used these derivatives on oil and future prices, well oil has lost more than 50% of the value since this crisis has surfaced (remember $150 a barrel ) and kept betting for future prices rises and in return bigger profits , this hasn't gone accordingly and this has plagued many in oil including Roman. This is why OPEC are looking to artificially raise the price of oil in near future because these oil rich nations are losing money with this loss of value.



But to assume that his fortunes have been untouched is a bit of wishful thinking I mean lets not forget this is a BLOOMBERG report , the company is one of the most trusted sources regarding finances and economic data there is. This is no Sun or the Times, this is a highly respected source. Bloomberg analysts say that Abramovich has lost close to 20 billion, hard to believe that they would be lying on something like this.

That comment you put that Roman sees Chelsea as a hobby and interest then I'm wondering why is he putting the money on Chelseas tab, an interest free loan, and if he were to ask for his money back then the club has 6 months to pay that . I find that very fishy. If it were a hobby why do we have to owe anything to him, once again hes betting that Chelsea is able to break even by 2010 (Which is looking very unlikely) and after that they will be hitting yearly surpluses which would cut the clubs debt towards Roman, thats what his plan was, what if this doesn't happen, well certainly the way things are looking its not gonna be that way, Kenyon has been making cost cutting statement when Mourinho was still here and yet we keep spending and that piece of SH*T Kenyon keeps talking, I never believe this piece of tool. If it were a hobby or leisure why the hell did he put in THE CLUBS tab why not on his personal fortune. I can't help that Dip, 'cos I'm an optomistic person.

On the other hand though mate, while I understand your concern I think you are being a little over pessimistic.

Chelsea have been cutting costs for a while now and has nothing to do with Roman's financial stability being threatened or not (I think not personally).

The business plan that Roman drew up for chelsea, hopefully expects us to be self financing as a club by a certain date. We may over-run that date but we are certainly rapidly heading in the right direction.

Chelsea are happy and Roman is happy with the progress being made, and there is nothing on the horizon that I can see, that threatens the mutual satisfaction that the club and Roman have with the entire situation.

Roman is never going to be so financially stretched that it is going to affect Chelsea. He has actually said that much, and he has earned our trust on that considering how good he has been to us since he arrived.

Anyway look at the doomsday scenario. Roman loses everything, and Chelsea lose Roman. We will still be in a far better situation then, than the continual liquidation threat we had to endure under Bates.

So what if we don't have £billions behind us. We will still be Chelsea. We will still exist. We existed for over 100 years before Roman arrived and we will continue to exist 100 years after Roman's arrival.

If it's only about money that you worry, well fu<k that mate. I supported Chelsea when we didn't have a pot to piss in, and to be honest with you I enjoyed following my club back then as much as I do now. So I will continue to do that whether we remain a rich club, or become a "not quite so rich" club.

It might be a bit reckless of me but I say, live for today. As for the future, what will be will be, and there aint a damn thing we can do about it.

Well, the headlines are reading "Chelsea crushed by Roma", but it was more like "Chelsea punished by Roma for complacency and making mistakes".

That was probably our worst defensive showing, I thought we were attacking pretty well up until the goal. Roma parked the bus early on, but once the goal went just before half-time they gained confidence and played like the Roma we all knew.

The first goal should've been dealt with, it was static defending, everyone was ball staring and Panucci capitalized.
2nd goal, Roma caught us by suprise, which is clever, we were expecting them to park the bus once again, but they went and took the initiative. Great strike by Vucinic, nothing could be done about that.

3rd goal was awful to concede, I don't know what Mikel was thinking. He lost the ball but decided to commit himself knowing there weren't any other defenders near him. He would get an earful from Phil.

I don't understand why Phil took Joey and Malouda off, they were attacking pretty decently in the first half. Drogba looked half the player he is. Anelka gave was quiet early on but improved as the match went on.

Deco was sent off, he was threading on a thin line, he was lucky not to get sent off earlier but for taking a quick free kick. Horrible decision by the ref.

Overall, it was a massive wake-up call after the Sunderland game. Never switch off in any game. Roma were no Sunderland and they showed us just how one mistake can lead a result like this. Its been a while since we conceded 3 goals in a single match, hopefully the players learn from this and bounce back once again.

Disappointing result. If we want to really mount a challenge this season, we need to start beating the big teams. It's great that we're thrashing Sunderland and Hull, but we need to defeat Arsenal and the likes, too.

Roma 3-Chelsea 1

HA! WTF was all that about.

We were all over them for the first 45 minutes. Sure they scored near the end of the 45, but I thought the second half subs by Scolari were not needed so quickly, (unless Joe and Malouda were injured). The substitutions upset the entire rythmn of our game, and Roma made good use of the space behind our back four, as we pushed upfield looking for goals.

Very committed defending in numbers by Roma, prevented us from putting their GK under too much pressure, and we were limited to long range shots for most of the game.

We still don't know how to get through the defensive "parked bus".

Still the loss shouldn't hurt the Chelsea CL campaign too much, and should remind the lads, especially Jon Obi, who had a stinker tonight, as did Deco and Anelka, that we are not invincible if we don't give it 100% every game.

Deco got sent off for taking a quick free kick. The ref was a complete plum by the way.

The League is still my main want for this season. Anything else is secondary.

This is the Champions League so every team is considered a big team from each country it is representing. Mount a challenge on what? Its still just the group stages.... O.o

At least with Bordeaux winning we managed to stay on top spot in our group.
It was a heavy lesson for our players today.
