Yeah Crouch's alright in my books, he used to be a Chelsea season ticket holder, I read about it somewhere....

Update:
Looks like Le Arse are off to good start.

Pretty dominating first outing. Whoever said that Ballack, Lamps and Deco can't coexist should rething that theory over. I didn't understand why Phil sybed Ballack that early in the game? Technical choice or was he injured?

I managed to see the last about 20 mins of the game seen the highlights afterwards. Deco's goal was bad-ass, incredible start to the season. The type of football Chelsea where playing was amazing. And this is without Drogba and Essien.

Great start to the season, we played the same kind of football that we did in pre-season, which is suprising considering the nature of the Premiership....our players seemed like they were loose from their shackles, played awesome passing football, movements were brilliant, everyone knew each other's position, created plenty of chances, overall a great opening day for us.

Can't believe how much praise we got from fans of opposing teams for our style of play, although once we have a tough game and win ala Jose 1-0 I'm sure they'll revert to their original state quickly. :D

Pity for Bally, our midfield looked so good together with him, Mikel and Deco were immense, hopefully he won't be out too long.
Bosingwa might be the answer to our problems with the right-back position. Can't wait for Michael and Didi to come back.

I'm keeping my feet firmly on the ground, Pompey didn't test us much, but if we manage to play like that against top four opposition then I believe we do have a chance for great things this season.

cheers

I haven't seen the match (again, **** Spanish Tv) but I've heard that Mikel is filling in nicely for Maks, playing fairly well in his role, but also offering more offensive opportunities. Can anyone who saw the match verify this?

Not looking forward to united v chelsea. You guys appear to be gelling so well and we keep losing more players :( Not to mention Portsmouth & liverpool beforehand.

Deco's goal was a stunner

What you guys think about the possibility of Robinho joining? I was just on as.com and they had a video with him CLEARLY stating that his objective was to go to the EPL and play. It was clear as day. He says he wants to be the best player in the world and that it isn't possible playing for us. Do you guys want him? Think he'll adapt? I have mixed feelings about this. But, if his heart isn't with us then we cant force him.

Don't really know, honestly. I think our midfield is quite stacked and Robinho can't play as sole-striker to my knowledge, so, we don't NEED him, but, I reckon he could be a good signing if he can adapt to the physicality in the game here.

Question to chelsea supporters in London, regarding tickets. I might be at London during the Bridge derby with Arse, when do tickets go up for sale, how much could one cost? Is it possible to buy in advance? I realise it'll be more considering it's Arse, but I'm hoping it's in the 80 euro or less field?

That's euros, not quids.

To the guy who "Took away from my Reputation" (or "negged" me), after I said(in the 2007-2008 thread) that Chelsea could sign BOTH Robinho and Kaka, I have one thing to say to you(whoever you are):

In around 365 days from today, BOTH Robinho AND Kaka WILL be at Stamford Bridge! One guy is already on his way and the other will follow soon.

As far as what Robinho will do, once he gets to the EPL, well, I'd say that he'll break after the first tackle. Did you guys see the tackle at the start of the Sunderland-Tottenham game today? Robinho is very weak will have no problem breaking at the first possible oportunity. He's probably as soft as Shevchencko.....won't last regardless of where he plays in the EPL. It's too physical a league for him.

Sheva is returning to Milan according to the Chelsea website news this evening. What a shame he didn't make an impression here in England. Oh well, good luck Sheva. I think our Milan supporting friends might be happy to have him back. :)

I just got back from a weeks break, and I need to catch up on the Club news. I just have not kept up at all. See ya later.:D

A suprise to say the least, I didn't think Milan really wanted him back this badly.....was it a loan deal or permanent one?

newbie, thats the same thing they said about Torres last season, don't be too sure of yourself, and it sounds like u are hoping for him to flop more than anything, thats expected i guess....
Sheva wasn't "soft", he was hardworking but just didn't have the ability to cope with the pace of the game. It had nothing to do with being physical or not with Sheva. He just lacked awareness and pace to play in the EPL.

and whats with the Kaka and Robinho thing? Did u bet a million quid or summat for them to end up at Chelsea? Really suprising considering yer a Liverpool fan. Whatever happens we'll see.

Sheva and Pizarro out on loans, Drogba injured, we got Paim on loan, and we have Anelka and Di Santo... Pretty thin attack we have, it seems. Does anyone else think we'll be seeing a striker join us soon?

nah, if Robinho's coming he'll probably play as the second striker or winger, so I reckon it'll 4-4-1-1 if he does indeed come.

I don't think we've got enough time to go for another striker, deals can take months when it comes to our club. I'll be glad if we can see Di Santo playing a few minutes in the EPL. But we wouldn't want too much expectations on his shoulders, he's still young and developing.

There's no question Robinho is a technical genius with the ball on hi sfeet. He has skills to spare but the question is if he'll adapt soon enough so that his confidence doesn't break. On his behalf, he has the pace to adapt but the physical play? Maybe. I am one who doesn't see him as weak as some do. He is very tricky that way. If he goes I wish him the best. Although a Real Madrid member, I wont be sore. There;s nothing you can do if a player doesnt want to play for you. Ill enjoy watching him play for Chelsea to be honest. And he may be the reason why Ill somewhat root for you guys. Dunno why, I guess Im just weird.
