Ballack, Essien, Makelele, Mikel, Deco, Lampard seems a bit too much for just a few places. IMO it would be best if someone left or you'd end up like Barca this season. The team does best when there are not so much great individuals only 1-3 max IMO and here you have only 4 for 2 or 3 places in Lampard, Ballack, Deco and Essien, and where's Drogba, (Sheva? i think this is the reason he flopped), Cole and so on...
It would be best for your club if Lampard was sold, even without buying deco only one of Lamps or Ballack would do better for you than both on pitch. IMO you should have never bought Ballack, eventhough he's great. In the same way that even though Ronaldinho for me is a God and i would be happy (more than happy) to see him in Milan my heart would be more at peace if he stayed in Barca. :)

You said it Zakov.:read:

Alcides is restless at PSV and he was hoping to join us last season. Now he comes out with this "Chelsea want me this season to replace Carvalho" stuff. The guy just wants to be noticed.

Chelsea know as well as we do how important Ricci is to us, and I would be surprised if he goes anywhere. Ricci's after a bit more money I would guess, so I think we'll give it to him rather than lose him. The chance of teaming up with Deco and Boswinga must carry some weight in Ricci's mind I would think.

Why the hell did we sign Deco?? I hate this little punk, Honestly, Im not liking this signing, Ballack and Lamps in midfield was startin to show some promise last season. But really, hes 30 years old and hes a twig, hes gonna get bullied around in the prem, i cant see him adapting to the prem.I DUUEEE HOPE IM WRONG, cuz right now im not feelin it.

Man im praying Lamps stays, really i am, this dude man I love this guy. HE is a Total Professional, works hard EVERY single game, is as fit as they come, and scores goals like a machine from mid. He is our number one priority this summer .
Carvalho, gotta STAY, hes still got a good 4 years in him.

Claude Makelele replacement ----> Marcos Senna?

Apparently we have 'permission' to talk to Robinho...not the right option but whatever. Not for 25 million at least.

£30m for Adebayor? £3m would be genorous.
Your joking right. :borat:
Good news that Maka has signed an extension to his contract though. I love this fella, and I'm happy he's re-signed.
Thats great news the lad has still has lots to offer at a big club like Chelsea. Good to see he didn't signed with PSG.

I must say as brilliant a midfielder like Deco is I'm not sure why Chelsea would need him with the current midfield I don't see how he would fit in. Most people forget Mikel is still to break through as a regular along with Lampard and Ballack. There isn't much room for another midfielder.

To be honest, Obi is not yet up to standard to be considered first choice in any midfield position. He's progressing well but still has a way to go.

Chelsea gave Deco a 2 year deal. Thats probably as long as it will take to get Obi to the level required. Hence Obi will remain a bit part player during this time.

Nobody joins this club with the promise that they will get to play 100% of the games. They join on the understanding that all that is important is the success of the club. There is no room for personal ambition and ego. Everyone has a part to play and need to be ready when called upon. As Scolari said, nobody is guarranteed a starting place. Every single player will have to fight for those places in the team. I'm sure Deco has had that clearly explained to him. That is the policy at Chelsea, and it includes everyone.

Dah shinin', Adebayor was half decent and fortunate for a little of last season. Before that he was a donkey, and this season will probably be a donkey again. Some people think he's a poor mans Drogba, but he aint even that good.

Dip, we signed Deco 'cos he is class man. He does not pose a threat to anyone at all already at the club. We can only benefit from his vision and experience, and he is not a wimp. He's a pretty tough fella and I think he will love playing in the Premiership.

Jose has issued a statement conceeding that Frank will not be joining him this coming season. He has read the "KEEP OFF" sign from Chelsea, and obviously knows it would be impossible to sign Frank. Lamps has 1 year left on his contract, which he will honour with us. When he returns from holiday he will either sign an extention to that contract or he will not. Then we will know if Jose will get him next season or not.

If Frank does leave next season, Deco will be fully bedded in by then and would be his logical temporary replacement. I think the club are looking at possible future scenarios and planning accordingly. Makes good sense to me.

I would rather have Adebayor than any of your strikers apart from Drogba of course and maybe Anelka too. So getting him will actually be an improvement not for 30m though.

As bad as Sheva was at least he did score and contributed when given the chance last season, whereas Adebayor was missing the easy tap-ins, he was only good when Rosicky, Hleb and Fab were laying assists to him, once Rosicky got injured the goals started to dry out......

Apart from Drogba and Anelka? That leaves Pizarro, Saloman Kalou and Sheva.

Pizarro has been pants to be sure. Sheva has been used badly since he arrived, and last season was Kalou's first in the league.

Taking all that into consideration, I still would not rate Adebayor above any of those three players. Pizarro will be leaving so he doesn't count anyhow.

Adebayor is a big strong bloke, and that is all he is. What we really do not need is yet another big strong bloke, who holds up the ball until other players get upfield. We already have Drog who does that, except Drog is 100 times the player Ade will ever be.

We also do not need or tolerate bigheads with ego's who think they are gods gift either. Ade is obviously a man with very little class as a player and as a person, so why on Earth would anyone want to spend money on a prick like him?

Anyone who shows the slightest interest in buying him from Arsenal must be fu<king desperate, and we are not in any way desperate enough to consider it at all.

Hehe... makes me giggle reading that considering you've got Drogba in your team :p

I did actually liken Drog to Ade in that respect but I do concede that I didn't make it as clear as I should of Daz.

It speaks for itself in that respect that Drog, after shooting his big mouth off for so long, is not exactly flavour of the month with the Chelsea big wigs or the fans, and the reason why Chelsea are looking to offload him to the highest bidder. For all his positive attributes, Drogs big gob will cost him his Chelsea future unless he agrees to toe the line and shuts the fu<k up from now on. He is walking a very thin line indeed, and it would not surprise me if Chelsea show him the door before the start of the season.

I agree. Drogba would be one of my favourite strikers if he wasn't such an asshole. I've always been a fan of the strong willed kind of old fashioned centre forwards with that physical strength against the centre backs. Like the old days with the likes of Shearer and Adams.

Absolutely Daz, and as an old fart myself I was raised watching these kinda forwards. It's a shame really that now the game has gone "soft", that this breed of physical striker (and indeed defender too), has been somewhat castrated by the poncy new rules that refs have to enforce.

You can't even get away with a strong shoulder charge in these days of poofy football, and even when one of these forwards holds up the ball while fending of a defender, the ref invariably penalises the striker for either backing in, which is usually 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, or for being "over" physical.

Players who now fall over rolling around at the least physical contact does not help the forwards cause either.

Every slide tackle is questioned. Every shove is a free kick. Shoulder charges are hardly ever allowed, and an ariel challenge in the box usually ends up as a free kick to the defending team.

I do like artistry from a forward with silky skills. I grew up watching players like Jimmy Greaves and you could not get a striker more silky than he was, but there should still be a place for the physical game. It's all too soft now for my liking.

Yeah completely. A balance between a physical game and allowing players with silky skills to shine would be perfect. But with there being so many ponces around i very much doubt it's going to happen in the near future at all (if ever).

And that's what annoys me so much about Drogba, it's clear to see that he has the physicality to compete with the strongest centre backs around - the likes of Vidic, Terry etc. But instead he just acts like a complete pansy. Whereas other players like Joe Cole (not THE best example, but AN example nonetheless) is a fantastic flair player AND he tends to stay on his feet - regardless of the fact that the majority of defenders could outmuscle him one-on-one.

Another example of that kind of player is Park Ji-Sung, though he's not the most technically gifted player, he gets a lot of playing time under Sir Alex for his non-stop attitude. He's one of the smallest (and probably weakest) guys on the pitch, but you'll never see him playing for a foul or going down too easy. The guy just wants to play fair, physical football and he's not willing to put in a fight for it.

gawd, I can't wait for Frank to come back and sign a new contract. These f&*ing rumours are annoying the hell out of me. And I ask them(most of my net friends) where did they hear news that Frank is leaving? They point to Goal.com, the same site that posted about Roman leaving..........
his governor position. That surely is site that dedicates itself to annoy Chelsea fans.

Seems like next in line is Arshavin, which ups the odds of Lampard getting out(Inter). No way that with Deco Lampard Arshavin Ballack Essien and possibly Robinho, Scolari doesn't sell one if he wants to have a solid team.

Help?

Yup, i'm hearing he signed 8 million EUROs a year contract or around 160,000 EUROs a week from a good russian source.

The economy is bad and these guys get such contracts. ****!
