btw, to everyone reading news that a deal for Frank Lampard to join Inter for 9M quid has been sealed. thats just bollocks by Goal.com(and its "reliable" source = Sports France!!), his agent denied reports that such a deal was made.

Just watched on Portuguese TV that Deco was/will be doing medicals in order to join Chelsea. He was asked by Scolari. Usually when it comes on the TV news it means it's almost certain, especially RTP (the state channel).

Now it seems more likely that Lampard will leave you guys I guess, even though I find that somewhat surprising, at least I looked at him as Chelsea symbol.

You won't find one Chelsea fan who agrees with you though Deni. Like JT, Lamps IS Chelsea to us. I will be very surprised if he leaves though, very surprised.

Chelsea considers Frank Lampard as having, and I quote, "no price" and being "not for sale for any amount."

“There will be other meetings with Frank and his entourage and he will be offered a very rich agreement in the unlikely event that Lampard decides to reject our current offer, therefore we prefer to keep him for the last year of his contract without allowing him to move to another team. We have had no contact with the Italian club or with anyone else. Any interest in Frank is unnecessary and not welcome".

And Roman Abramovich has already agreed to offer Frank a big pay raise to renew his contract.

If Frank was unhappy at Chelsea then that would be the only reason to move on, but he is not unhappy at Chelsea, so I see no foundation to this constant media speculation regarding Frank.

I'm intrigued by the signing of Deco. Should be interesting I think. I don't think he'll have much trouble adapting to the EPL. Deco's a tough little guy, and still has a lot to offer. Intersting signing indeed, and at £8 million well worth it.

I hear that Scolari is also pushing hard to sign Robinho from Real too, and says that he knows how to get the best out of him. Could cost us £25 million to sign him.

The funniest thing today? The Chelsea hating Daily Mirror, claim that we are gonna make a bid for Adebayor. Seriously, who the fu<k would pay this guy the £120,000 a week he is looking for. Jose maybe but certainly not Scolari. I assume this is his agent attempting to scare Barca or AC Milan into making a move for him. £30 million for HIM? You have just gotta be kidding me.

Good news that Maka has signed an extension to his contract though. I love this fella, and I'm happy he's re-signed.

Maka is a fantastic player with a great footballing brain. You don't lose that, and that's why he has stayed at the the top for so long. i see Deco as similiar. His intelligence will overcome a lack of pace, and his vision will tear holes in teams. I can't see Lampard going to easy, especially not for the £9m quoted, even if he is in the last year of his contract. Lampard is the main consistent source of goals for yas, and they would want to think twice about selling.

Yeah, I'm happy about Maka, and I don't think anyone expects to see the Deco of 5 years ago, but as you say he still has talent aplenty.

Now that Deco's here, mixed feelings really. lets hope he toughens up and we won't need JT hammering the ball to his legs for him to snap out of diving.

Great player, as we've seen in the Euros, and despite his age, his game is not based on pace, and thats a plus. What worries me is his commitment, we all saw how he self-destructed at Barca last season. And what worries me now is how Lampsy sees all this.
But the good thing is, Scolari made it top priority to sort out Frank's future with us and keep him here where he belongs.
Now all we need is for the Carvalho speculation to die down and sign a decent and younger striker/winger.
