yeah, i thought Halsey would've added more time since Spuds players were wasting time a whole lot, he shouldn't have blown the whistle when were attacking at least, just added more to the frustration......looking back, Cech and Drogba were both at fault for Woodgate's fluke goal, Drogba lost track of Woodgate and Cech punched the ball straight at Woodgate....Spurs weren't really dangerous at all to be honest....the penalty was decision a joke, it was one of those that bobbled up and hit the players arms.....god!! were Spurs lucky today.......

Lucky Spurs

I don't begrudge Spurs a trophy, yes they were lucky but as a neutral I can't understand why Cole didn't play more of a role.

Still think Chelsea will win a cup, hopefully the FA Cup to stop man U winning it

yep Zakov, you're right, but after all who got lucky in the same clash at Stamford bridge last year, for the FA Cup? Spurs leading 3-1 and then you coming back with tones of luck to snatch the draw and put the game into replay..

Spurs deserved the trophy. Surely they weren't as dangerous as predicted, because it's their first final in a decade, they were a bit scared at times. But no doubt about the quality they have on their roster. With Ramos on, they will only develop. I expect/want them to break into top 4 next year. :)

Very dissapointed in the starting 11. Obi, Anelka and Essien should have been subbed very early on. What has the ACN done to our African players? They seem like half as good than before they went. Wierd.

Avram got this all wrong IMO. Add to that a very poor display by too many Chelsea players.

Great goal by Drog. From where I was sitting it looked like Wayne was guilty of the handball for their pen. I haven't seen it since so I really aint sure now. Their second goal was pure fluke, aided by Cech's decision to punch the ball instead of catching it.

Saying that though, a team needs a bit of good fortune to win anything, and as gutted as I WAS to lose the game, I am very pleased for Spurs and everyone ( apart from the morons), connected to the club. Ramos and Gus have transformed that club, and hopefully this will be the start of better days for them.

Unlike a lot of Chelsea fans, I have never had a problem with Spurs, probably because Jimmy Greaves was a Chelsea boy once, and I used to sneak into White Hart Lane some Saturdays as a boy, to watch the man. Genius(Y)

AND apart from that fellas......Do you appreciate how much this win has really pissed of the goons? They are almost suicidal that Spurs have won something. Now that for me, makes the pain of losing almost turn to joy.

Well done Spurs. You WERE the best team on the day in my opinion, but from now on you are on your own. Don't expect any more favours from the Chels. ;)

maaan, you were at Wembley? omg, his should have been a great game to watch.:)

I strongly suspect Spurs will turn to be a fav of yours, at least a secondary one, if not primary (after they manage to get the better of Chelsea next seasons :) just joking.).

Oh yes, i do appreciate to see the g00ners pissed off.

As of Chelsea performance today, i have never rated Obi veyr highly. Anelka too. I know everyone was crazy about him coming to Chelsea and doing partnership with Didier, how mellow he was gone - aka nothing to do with the former lousy moody Anelka, that we knew-, but i don't really see him kicking ass in the blue shirt.
Essien is another thing. He is a little off form, but i understand the pressure on him. He plays non stop football for some 2 years now. a africa nations cup every January, etc etc. This schedule gets the players soaked up.

@adobesun - did we get a fortunate penalty and a fluke header coming back from that 3-1 deficit last year??

well, its no use crying over spilled milk like they say, but i'm feeling very blue right now today......congratulations to Tottenham tho, its probably been too long since they won their last trophy, but they won't get anymore against us NEXT TIME....
As for us, we need to sort out our starting 11 quick, Grant should learn from his mistakes if he's going to be a decent manager for us.....

Partnership with Drogba? Lol, Anelka doesn't have a partnership with Drogba, he's on the right flank half the time playing the same position as SWP, I never watched Bolton much but feel the guy's talents are being wasted. I dunno if Grant put him there if that's just his style, doesn't seem too effective though.

All you can hope is that this makes them hungrier to win one of the other 3 trophies.

With all due respect to the Carling Cup, there are much bigger fish to fry for Chelsea. If you were to say, at the end of the season, that all you won was the Carling......you know the rest...

what do u mean bigger fish to fry? The Carling Cup is a big fish, and we couldn't get it, but the fact that we didn't win it doesn't diminish its value, look at what it means to Spuds, they get a free ticket to Europe, when early season they looked close to relegation.....Its easy for bigger teams to say its just the Carling Cup and its just the UEFA Cup.....but everything has to start somewhere, and back in the days of Jose, the Carling Cup was our starting point of glory......

newbie saying the CC is a small fish - xaxaxa, you must be joking man. Especially for .. say Liverpool.. I bet Rafa dreams he gets with a cup outta this season, because otherwise the Kop will punish him with a baton.

The CC is an important trophy and Spurs won it. Being jealous won't change that. :)

Well in the big picture, I suppose the League Cup isn't the biggest trophy to go for these days, especially for younger fans who do not remember when it was an important trophy to win in England.

I still have an order of preference and it is this. 1) Winning the League. 2) The FA Cup. 3) The Champions League. 4) The League Cup.

Saying that, I would be happy to win any one of the four, including the League Cup. ( Not this season though heheheheheee).

Its better to win that one trophy though, rather than finish the season with nothing.

Look, if you can't win anything else at the time of the Carling Cup final(like SPURS, or Liverpool, if we were to have reached the final), you'd be a fool not to want ATLEAST the League Cup. Chelsea/ManU CAN win others so, if they were to lose in a Cup final, I'm sure they'd prefer it to be the Carling Cup final. Now, if Liverpool, for example, are in contention for any other major trophy(even the UEFA Cup), I wouldn't give two sh**s about getting players worn out in a Carling Cup final. You can jealousy that.

Given how the season has unfolded for us, YES! Were we to be in contention for the EPL, or still in the FA Cup, NO!

It would be something better than nothing(and like I said above, you'd be a fool to NOT want that), but, in reference to what you are alluding to, the League Cup would NOT be THAT cup.

Great win with 10 men, great goals by Joey and Ballacks, we controlled the game well even with ten men, Riccy, JT, Makelele were all superb, Anelka did well on his own, held up the ball for Joey's goal, Kalou was decent on the counter-attack, Joey was Joey, Ballack had a solid game, it all worked for us....

On a sour note, Lamps got sent off for pushing Boa Morte after being provoked by Boa Morte kicking him while they tangled up on the ground....similiar to Mascherano-Aliadere situation, well, since the FA proves itself to be run by a bunch of old circus clowns, we shouldn't appeal ala Man City Petrov......

We were great passing the ball around even 10 men, u couldn't tell which team was a man down.....great response after disappointed at Wembley!!

cheers and on to Olympiakos!!

What a comeback from the flukey loss to Spurs last week end. The boys were right up for this one. 4 nil, and itcould have been five if Anelka's goal would have stood, having been judged offside when he was clearly onside.

Wankey Ref again ( The one and only Peter Walton), lost the plot not for the first time this season, and sent Frank off for pushing Boa Morte, after Boa Morte kicked at him off the ball ( Gallas anyone?). Frank walks but Boa Morte stays on. ( Aliadiere v Mascherano).

This lunatic refereeing just has to stop. Every week we have more and more mistakes made that cannot be excused. Peter Walton in particular is WAY out of his depth in the EPL. For the sake of football the FA need to sort these incompetant dickheads out.

So anyway....Anelka scores after less than 2 minutes and its dissallowed. Then in the space of five minutes we score from a penalty, taken neatly as usual by Frank. Then a sublime goal by Joe, and a third from Ballck. An exquisite half volley. The fourth was from Ash, his first Chelsea goal. Well done son.

The set up and attacking play today was exactly what we want to see from Chelsea. It was lovely to watch today.

Oh yeah, West Ham were crap.:clapwap:

We win 4-0, and Spurs get beat 4-1. Just proves that anyone can win a cup game on a good day, and anyone can lose a cup game on a bad day. That does not make the winner of the cup game a better team overnight, or the losers a worse team overnight.

Just thought I'd add that bit for all the Spuds who have let me know that it is they, who are the dominant team in London right now (Yeah right), and all the Chelsea fans who saw our 3rd loss of the season as some kind of sign that Chelsea are in a mess. Not the case on both counts.

Man U are one point behind Arse now, after they were lucky to snatch a draw from the jaws of defeat today. We are still 6 points behind Man U, but we still have a game in hand. Looking good Chels.

some news in, apparently we're going to appeal against Frank's red card IF we get video evidence on our side, apparently the referee's assistant claimed that Frank push Boa Morte in the FACE.....

which was not what happened obviously, if we do claim, i'd like to see what kind of joke the FA would pull or would they finally act like a real football organization..............

its going to be 3 games with Frank if we don't get the appeal, so its Barnsley, Spurs, and some other team I forgot, but he is going to be missed, just when the partnership of him and Ballack looked bright(3rd goal vs West Ham), a wanker of a referee had be a bother......
