good win today. 1-0. Joey scored a goal. a dissapointment that Cech might have a hip injury. Roque Santa Cruz ran into him with the run of play. Hilario came in and proved that he is a good subsitute.

Yeah a hard fought win too. I thought Blackburn were deserving of something though, they had a good game today. Thankfully we were better. Lovely goal by Joe, sheer class. Some fine saves by Friedel kept the score down I think.

We can add Petr Cech to the injury list with JT and Drogba. This is all too depressingly familiar. We wont know until Monday about Cech.

How great to have Carvalho back huh? I would love one day soon to see JT and Ricci actually PLAY together. Still, its great to have him in charge while JT is missing. He's a rock.

If you guys could get both Carvalho and Terry fit together, you would have one solid pair of centre backs. Its about a 100% improvement on the pairing of Alex and Ben Haim.

Tal Ben Haim I can understand, but Alex has been solid in the back.
Hes still not the quality of either Carvalho or Terry. He has that occasional blip. Like when he almost lobbed Cech with an header about a week or two ago.

Yep, I still feel nervous with Alex and Ben Haim, although I believe that Alex only needs a little longer to get the hang of things. Ben Haim on the other hand, I cannot find an excuse for. Why was Jose so intent on landing this guy? I thought he was OK at Bolton but not good enough to replace JT or Ricci if needed. Ah well, what can we do huh?

Anyway, Happy Christmas boys and girls. Have a Super Blue 2008;)

Oh yeah. We play Villa Tomorrow. We are without JT, Drogba and possibly but not certain, Cech as well. Carlo has a rib injury so he is out too. I don't mind Hilario between the sticks, in fact on his day he is a class GK. I hope he has a good day. I trust Ricci to steady the defence in JT's absence so thats cool. The midfield is bursting with available players though, and it would be nice, for us and for him, if Sheva could play outa his skin tomorrow and score a few. ( I'm still optomistic that his time is coming soon.)

We need to at least maintain our unbeaten home record against Villa tomorrow. More important than that obviously is the fact that we need to win. One goal will do for me and I don't care who scores it. In these troubled times any kinda win will be great. We have a score to settle with the Villa anyhow and tommorow will be the time to settle it.

C'MON U BLUES :)

Another 2 points dropped...the penalty against us was a ridicoulous call. Cole's red card has been appealed. Shevy had a cracker of a goal. We have to get back on track and beat the c*nts also from West London and the Magpies. Both are beatable teams especially Fulham. They got nowhere under Sanchez and their still in a mess now. Spurs drubbed them 5-1..... Magpies just lost to Wigan.

Bad to see so many players injured. Lampard limped off with a thigh injury. Hope is back for our next game. Cech made a big blunder with Maloney's second goal. Ballack came in and did well for Lampard. 1 assist. Good to see him back and be effective in our tactics.

with Carvalho and Terry out, we have to place Essien as a center back,

what do you guys think?
With Lampard out for 4 weeks, I think you guys need his presence in midfield. Although Ballack is back now, so it's not all that bad. You got extremely unlucky in the game against Villa. Cole, Carvalho and Lampard will all be out because of that one game.

seems like we've gone the whole season with ben haim with and alex in defence (I know alex wasn't there at the start) but it's been sorta on/off.

hope they get Luka Modric, the guy who's apparently up for auction in London, he's a great playmaker but leaves no room for Sidwell.

Sidwell looks like another pointless signing you guys made. Him and Ben Haim were very average signings in my books, and represent the fact you got them on frees. Although Sidwell could get a few appearances in Lampards absence now ?

I disagree Sidwell is pointless. I think he is very promising lad, he might play on a very high level, just should be given the chance. Let's remember Duff and Scott Parker, they performed very very good in the few champions league games they played in.. Yet they wasn't as attractive to Jose, as .. hm.. KLOD (Claude Makelele), so .. way out.

Btw, thank God Chelsea won today, they just won me 50 euros with that result!! :)

ben haim isn't the best, but let's face it, he'd be pretty good for a more mediocre team (like Bolton :) and he's a needed signing cos of all the injuries we'd had anyways. Investing some money to actually buy a good defender maybe from the continent wouldve probably been a better idea.

sidwell hasn't been used well though, I'd agree with that.

we were extremely lucky today, just me or were we better in the 1st half?

Ben Haim is a good player, he proved it at Bolton he was solid, I just think hes nervous or too jittery because of the fact hes playing for a much bigger club with so much added attention.

sorry i'll have to disagree with yer dipset, playing with Bolton and Chelsea takes different class to fully settle in.....as good as yer think he was at Bolton, he's not even in the same league as Alex to be compared with the likes of Terry, Carvalho, Toure, Gallas, Vidic and so on.....
Were Bolton that strong defensively when he was on their team? I remember us hammer Bolton 5-1 about two seasons ago when he was supposedly at "top" form for Bolton.........
I just don't think he's good enough for Chelsea...., he doesn't have that aerial presence and strength to cope with today's top strikers.......OK, Alex has had dodgy moments, but he's contributed at both ends for us, there are times where he looked ragged but for vast majority of his time here, he's been solid, and i can't remember a goal that he was at fault....he's also useful with free-kicks and going forward!!
Btw, Ballack's is at his best form in his time here, lets hope it continues!!
