LONDON, Nov 24 (Reuters) - English champions Chelsea are drawing up plans to leave Stamford Bridge in a bid to rival Manchester United and become the biggest club in the world, chief executive Peter Kenyon said.

'By 2014 we want to be internationally recognised as the No.1 club,' Kenyon was quoted as saying by British newspapers on Friday.

'I think it's pretty clear we can't get to where we want to here. We have said we would like the stadium to be bigger, but that's not going to be at the expense of moving to Brussels or Milton Keynes.'

Before Sunday's clash at Premier League leaders United, Kenyon also said manager Jose Mourinho was a key part of the club's long-term plans and quashed any talk of him leaving.

personally mmm i dunno, Chelsea is definitley getting up there, I think they they have the potential to do it, they already expanded their brand name in Africa i know a freind from Gambia and he says lots of Chelsea supporters , WHAT do u guys think?

unless they win 8 straight league titles, I very much doubt it.

How arrogant to think you can create a clubs footballing history in 10 years

HAHAHA Chelski has to at least win the Champions League before!! hahahahaha.... and they'll be the biggest, maybe, in terms of money, definately not popularity or history.....

To be the "#1 club" you need to win the CL a few times and for CL you don't only need money but mostly luck which is something they don't seem to have. Moreover I wonder what might happen if Abramovic leaves, Chelsea still lose millions a year which he pays every year but as soon as he gets bored by his toy he will leave and god knows what might happen than.

Cheer up guys. I know the truth hurts but no one will stop the juggernaut. You can stick your popularity, we dont need that. You can stick your respect, we dont need that either.

Unfortunately for you Roman or Jose aint even thinking of leaving so thats the end of that bullcrap too.

The Champions League??? Just a matter of time and everyone knows it.

Oh and Ogsimon. We just celebrated 100 years as a club you dickhead. THAT is history whether you like it or not.

Keep suffering fellas. It just gets better and better for us.............. :funny:

I love how these guys come to pretend to laugh at stuff like this and then defend their club whether it be Manchester United or Juventus because they feel threatened by Chelsea or whatever and try to come up with the excuse that Chelsea's just in a stage. You really think a guy's gonna invest this much money in a club for a few years until he wins everything and then leave?
Abrahimovic wants Chelsea to be the biggest club on earth, enough so that maybe he can actually earn a profit.
And honesytly, stop living in the past. Chelsea's the best team in the world right NOW, I don't give if Liverpool won the CL before and used to win the Premiership, Chelsea'll be winning the trophies in the future.
It's also gonna be funny when Chelsea has won more CL's and Premierships than Manchester United or Arsenal have in any 20 year span.

Fili, No chance mate. Man U aint played a good team so far this season. On Sunday they get put in their place. Otherwise they will continue with the self delusion that they are any good. Its the kind thing to do. Like putting down a horse with a broken leg. It puts the horse out of its misery. :ewan:

If you're talking about results on the pitch this season, then Manchester United should be up there, as well as Lyon dominating their league.

If you're talking about last season, then Barcelona should be up there because they won two trophies and are leading their league.

If you're talking about the richest club in the world, that would be Real Madrid.

If you're talking about a club with the richest club owner, then Chelsea would win hands-down.
