Janus, the official new ball for A.S. Roma was presented last Tuesday in Bolzano, in the team’s first official match against Herta Berlino.
On the stage with Janus were Francesco Totti, Luciano Spalletti, and Bruno Conti, who, after Giorgio Martino’s presentation, were able to handle the football and see the true quality of this ball. On behalf of Diadora, Enrico Mambelli and the Marketing Director, Gelindo Bordin, were also present. The occasion was the prelude to the presentation of the much awaited new jerseys, which will take place on August 24.
The name was inspired from the Roman god of gates and beginnings, Janus is the perfect synthesis of style and technological research. This new football enhances the stability, precision, and speed of the trajectory. Its unique construction is based upon a combination of triangles and pentagons, which makes for a remarkably homogeneous external surface. The seams that divide them create perfect circumferences, and create passages through which air can pass. The ball’s exterior is covered with thermoplastic polyurethane, a soft and elastic material that guarantees a soft touch and excellent ball control in all weather conditions.
