Would it be interesting to make Chant Importer 06 for FIFA 06? Tell me your opinions and i will consider making it, it is possibile to make one :)

Yes, because all older chant importers have become incompatible with Fifa06.
It can now handle filenames greater than 8 character + extention and the old chant.bin convertors corrupt the file now.

It would be great if you could make a chant-importer for FIFA06, which can add chants to the other chants.

i must see if it's possibile to do such thing...

These are the differences from last year :

chants.big remains the same
chants.bin is now located inside a new audio.big file
chants.bin has now filenames inside that are > than 8 characters (which causes incompatibility)

I tried to add custom chants to the chants.big and chants.bin when I renamed the 850+ files to match the old 8.3 format (yes, I know I am nuts) but no new sound was heard during the match and at the end of the match the game just froze instead of going back to the menu. (alt ctrl del only way out)

The only way I found to date to make custom chants work is to empty chants.big and chants.bin of all native fifa06 files and rebuild them from scratch, then they do work.

However, I think the key is the program to convert/edit the chants.bin, if that one can be rendered compatible with the new format all is solved (for a non programmer like me that's easy to say)

Also new :

The chants big now contains in addition to team specific and event specific chants (goal, foul, ect), also player specific, league specific and region specific sounds, if you need the data format I will write down what I found yet in a next post.

A chant importer/raptor is important as for the moment the sound makers like myself are not motivated to continue making sound packs if the damn things can't be imported like it should in the new fifa, and honestly I have a headache of hearing BAM! BAM! MILAN! over and over again...

@Billy1969: Do you know if it's possible, to make a chant, which gets only played against a certain team?

Not in Fifa2005, maybe in this one, but if it is, I didn't find the code yet in the chants.bin, I doubt EA would have add taunt chants vs certain teams only though

Dear friends,
I have been working from a while to a kind of "chant importer" as part of a larger program that I call "Sound Master 06" that will manage also Commentaries and Songs.
Right now it is available for a preliminary beta-test, I will open another thread for this.
I just want to say to Hrvoje that if he is interested to join our efforts in the development of tools I am absolutely open to any kind of cooperation. (Hrvoje you have my e-mail).

You two guys seem to be the ones to ask this:

What is the best program to use now for FIFA 06 to edit the rosters and create new players assign captains and kick takers and redo formations?

Currently I am using UNIdb and doing the work in Access and then checking it out (when it works) in the FIFAData06 program.

This method requires a whole lot of trial and error which in turn wastes a lot of time.

For example, just to get a birthdate right I have to either track down a player with the same or close birthdate and then copy over. Takes a lot of time to find a close match. Next option is to get close and keep checking in the game and doing the math until I get it right.

An editor that just let you set the birthdate would be amazing.

Am I asking for CC for FIFA 06?

I guess, but are there other options currently?

uniDb / Access is the best program by far to modify the database right now.
It just takes some time to get used to but with a little practice you can make what you want. And if you make regular back-up of your files , nothing wrong can happen.
For the player's birthday, what I'm doing is looking at the 2005 database to find some missing players or create these players with CC 2005 and checking them with unidb.
A little complicated but works fine

Hey, thanks JOMI.

Do you have interest in collaborating?

I'll send you my FIFA.DB and you can send me yours. Or we can work on one main FIFA.DB for all.

I am only editing the team player links, player write, and player tables.

It's far easier to copy and paste records than to work them all up from scratch.

I have made these players:

rafinha
kucera
toure
kahe
pantelic
slepicka
pospech
dosek
loucka
polacek
gadshev
charalambides
leontiou
shimirtas
niculae
lawaree
darlas
hatchi
fellahi
valencia
du wei
rui nereu
chimenti
vander

You can use this simple script to convert readable dates to fifa required format (and vice versa):

Thank you so very much. That is such a useful tool! Time saver!

I just added that FIFA ambient sound patch I found on FIFA.CP, game sounds great.

I hit the post twice and the sound was great!

Oh, one other thing. For those of you using FIFAdata2006, I have noticed a small bug.

When you load the FIFA.DB and make changes it will mess with the roster graphic of newly created players. Or at least those you edit or something.

I am trying to find consistency.

For example: I have Chimenti all sussed out appearance wise and loaded the game up. He had a nice in game pic that looked a bit like him just not so old but egads, he was way too lowly rated, so I exited and loaded the FIFA.DB in FIFADATA2006. Went to Chimenti and raised his stats a little. When I went back into the game he had no pic in the roster management windows.

So yeah. Just a heads up.
