I hear this reasoning all the time but it makes no logical sense. Do you buy crappy toothpaste and then complain about it every time you brush your teeth? No. If something is crappy, you don't buy it. And if you know it's crappy and you still buy it, then that's your fault and you have no right to complain about it.

You know, I just thought of those spots for cars where the cars transform to robots. I don't think that any of the buyers critised the manufacturer because his car actually could not transform into a robot.

What I want to say with that, maybe EA is not that bad. Maybe I am the one who looks from the false point of view.

So you are right, I had a philosophical insight and Ignite is still not on our PC^^ Damn, no ballboys =(

You're a good guy bro, I appreciate your willingness to talk about this subject in a friendly and honest manner. I understand the attraction to FIFA NG, and from the reviews I'm reading it sounds like the gameplay has in fact been improved to a degree. If I owned a PS4, FIFA 14 would be the first game I would be tempted to get after The Show. I would though probably wait for FIFA 15, knowing FIFA 14 is pretty much a port and not much more, and I already have the FIFA 14 full game demo (thanks Fidel!). But that's just me pinching pennies and being practical.

because a console costs four to five hundred dollars as opposed to pc hardware that could run you thousands of dollars and constantly needs to be upgraded as new games are released.

Myth, myth, myth, myth. I haven't touched my PC as far as performance is concerned for several years - only now are some games beginning to struggle.

So once again, this whole thing about needing to upgrade your PC every six months? That's right - it's a myth. And even when games do start to struggle, you can turn settings down; you can tweak config. files. Either way, the game will still look at least as good as its console counterpart.

Might I add the amount of money saved on games? PC games are almost half the price of console games and that doesn't even begin to take into account things like Steam Sales; GreenManGaming and other such sites. PC gaming is nowhere near as expensive as people make it out to be.

Do you not understand that the biggest joke of all is that EA counts on exactly this? They know people will blindly rush out and buy NG just because it has ballboys and pretty stadiums. Every year they release ''joke'' games as you put it because consumers don't hold them to higher standards. Look at you for example, you're even going to fork out hundreds of dollars for a knowingly inferior product.

I don't care what you do obviously, it's your money. But when people complain about the game's quality and say things like screw EA, then I speak up. People need to take responsibility for their part in all this. The game is what it is because of undiscerning consumers who will go out and buy anything. Don't blame EA.

Quite so - rushing out to buy a console for that reason is idiotic. Almost as idiotic as those who bought the CG version and then lined EA's substantial pockets again by buying the NG version.

There is a PS4 in my local store so customers can test it. One of the games available is FIFA 14. I played it with my friend 1 vs 1. Graphics improvements are great, and there are really lots of new animations, but... Broken defense is still the same and gameplay in general is just like CG. I played one match only, so cant judge it only from that. I was impressed a bit, but nothing that would made me buy it. FIFA 14 CG is enough for me this year. I actually put aside FIFA 14 and now I'll give PES 2014 some quality playing time. Recently I played lot of PES 2014 2 vs 2 with my friends and really enjoyed, hopefully I'll enjoy ML also, with new DLC 2 which have both graphic and gameplay improvements. Will see.

Seriously? Defensive AI is still rubbish? The game is nothing but a shiny update of CG? Wow. Those guys who bought both versions must be feeling more than a little bit ripped off...

i disagree, to play footy games you may not need to but i guarantee you if you tried running some of the games i run on max like the battlefields and crysis series games your pc would start to melt after playing for 10 minutes.

it's the hardware demanding games that make pc gaming better than consoles, but i don't consider fifa demanding, you can make do with a half ass cpu and a gpu that supports the outdated shader 3.0.

if i purchase a game you best believe that i am going to max out the graphics, if you get a game for the pc knowing you will have to run it at it's bare minimum you should have bought a console.

Have you actually played NG Fifa 14 ?

It's Outstanding. The pretty stadiums and crowd mean nothing to me, i don't even really take that into consideration to be honest, rippling kits and tufts of grass thrown up when you see someone shoot in replays is all great and all, but it's the actual gameplay that's immense.

Fifa 14 on PS4 is leaps and bounds over the ps3 ( which I own ), 360 version and PC version ( which I obviously own ), it's like night and day.

This isn't just a straight port with tarted up graphics , like i'm assuming a lot of people seem to think.

The Impact engine, whilst still not perfect and has room for improvement actually makes a difference now. Passing is now sublime, Heading is excellent and shooting is probably the best and most realistically weighted that I have ever played in a football game ( and that's saying something as I have been caning football games since the ZX Spectrum era ).

Fifa 14 NG looks quite similar to be honest to the PC version, but whilst the overall looks aren't radically different, the underlying engine definitely is. The more you play it, the more subtle refinements stand out more and more.

The AI is of your teammates and opposition is also radically improved, and when it flows it is amazingly realistic. It also plays on NORMAL a lot slower than FIFA 14 current gen.

I love it, and I don't think I'm going to be able to ever go back to the PC version until they port Ignite over, it's that good.

you don't understand it. We don't have it, so it is shit. We maybe want it, so it is even more shit. And when we finally get it, it's super. But then there will be something even greater, and then again it's shit.

xD

Actually no, I've read countless reviews and user reviews, and the general consensus is it plays like a port of the CG version, but with better animations. Nothing I read says it is shit; everyone says it is a definite if slight improvement over CG. But most also say it's not worth the purchase if you already own the CG version, but that's a personal choice of course.

No, you don't understand. I also wish to play games at their highest detail level, but when they begin to struggle there are other options other than throwing more money at the system. I know I'll upgrade my system at some point so buying a console would be a waste of money for me - I'll probably only play one game on it; two at the most. I could spend £350 on a PS4 for Fifa and WWE, or I could spend the same on my PC and make all my games fly.

Even if games have to be played at lower settings, they still look better than on the consoles, there are still mods, you still don't have to hunt for a game disc in order to run the game and the games are still 40%-50% cheaper than console games. If I have the choice of playing PC games at the bare minimum or switching to console gaming, I'll still choose PC gaming; there are so many advantages besides shinier graphics. ;)

And I play much more than just Fifa on my PC - only now are some of those newer games beginning to struggle even at lower settings. An upgrade is imminent make no mistake, but once that's done I doubt I'll do anything else to my system for a good few years again.

Fifa 14 on PS4 is leaps and bounds over the ps3 ( which I own ), 360 version and PC version ( which I obviously own ), it's like night and day.

Is it as much of a leap as PS3 Fifa was over PS2 Fifa? I'm strictly talking AI here.

I haven't played the game, but I have read many reviews which agree with your point. I saw one video where the guys sounded like they were trying harder to convince themselves about the amazing new animations - at one point, a diving header was scored and they went mad about the animations. I see diving headers like that in Fifa CG all the time. Same goes for the sliding tackle they went so mad about.

That's the "I paid 600 bucks for this game so it HAS to be better" effect. Justifies their PS4/XBox 1 purchase.

It seems to me that this is turning into the sour grapes thread.

Is the pc better than next gen consoles? Of course it is. My pc decimates the Ps4 on all fronts.

But that doesn't mean that FIFA14 nextgen isn't the best football game I've ever played.

On the gameplay front everything is better.

You can watch as many YouTube videos and read as many reviews as you like,
But until you actually play it for a few hours, I don't really think you can comment on what it's like. I have been a member of this forum for 10 years, I hope that you all know that I would not lie. I have no need to justify any of my purchases. If the game sucked I would be more than happy to tell you all, but the fact is that it doesn't. It's Outstanding.

I'm sure you're right. Let's just hope that the PC gets to enjoy it for a few more years before we get thrown back on the recycled Fifa diet when the PS24,000 1/2 and the Xbox Alpha and Omega come out. :D

EA know damn well that many gaming PCs around today can run Ignite; don't make us wait six years again EA.

Just stop before you turn this thread into wherever it is you're going with this ridiculous comment. I never bought a PS3 and I have no intention of buying a PS4. Couldn't give a crap about console gaming; PC or nothing for me.

I'm not commenting on what the game is like, I'm relating that many of the impressions I've read say the game is a CG port with better animations and graphics, and not much more. Good for you that you like it. And I'm sure you're not lying about your own personal impressions, and why would you? But it doesn't change the fact that many others who have played the game weren't as impressed as you.

I am still wondering, if ng is so similar to cg, and the structure of ng consoles so similar to pc structure, why won't it be possible if some guys extract ng files that someone convert it for pc? (like player/kitmodels, pit and other graphic related stuff.) Of course fifa is no skyrim, so it won't be possible to include new animations. But why no graphics?
