No worries, relocating is not much work at all.

(...) Eidos is continuing to work towards release of the PC version of the game shortly before Christmas, although this may extend into the New Year. (...)
So, the official release date estimate is now at "before Christmas 2004". Wasn't that what SI first said? :S

SI say "before Christmas 2004" and release on 5/11/2004; BGS say october and are now likely to release in Q1 2005. :S

Let me put it this way:

As an independent developer creating a soccer game from the chairman's viewpoint, the way that I will get people to actually play the game is for them to try it and like it, which means creating a more than decent product.

The same rings true for CM5. They'll get a lot of people to try it, based on name recognition and advertising alone, but how many people will actually play it?

Look how many people signed up on the new CM forums because of the promise of a decent soccer management game, which now is being severely questioned. It's not easy to create a soccer management game; it's even harder when the expectations are incredibly high.

i believe there will be a numbers of people giving a try on this game. may be thats the reason why they didn't come out an actual demo ;) afraid of the sales of final product? :p

"News"flash:

From an article on Gamesindustry.biz
The statement also revealed that Championship Manager 5, the first game in the popular series since Eidos parted company with veteran developer Sports Interactive, has now slipped into 2005.

The game, which had originally been scheduled to launch in October in direct competition to Sports Interactive's new title, Football Manager 2005, is now scheduled for the second half of the financial year, which runs through to June 30th.

Well, at least it's official now...
