Blind would be a good target, remember we dont defend like other teams and, unlike Man Utd, we have a system that actually works. He is good on the ball, reads the game well and can play in many positions.

Huge improvement to Vermaelen and Mathieu IMO. My prefered CB are probably Mustafi and Koulibaly.

Had a bad season with Real ok, but his style is close to Dani Alves'. His full 3 seasons at Porto showed me so.

Very different player and mind, Alves is not just an offensive fullback he is also the most incisive, he is ALWAYS attscking, tireless, and dont compare Alves technique to Danilo... Alves doesnt lose balls which is key in Barça system.

Then the psicologyc aspect, Alves is a winner, a competitive beast. Danilo seems weak.

This is exactly what Danilo did week in week out playing for Porto, mainly in the last 2 seasons. Didn't start well, took his time to adapt and his first season was very meh.

I do agree with you on the mentality part though, and maybe that's what's keeping him from showing he real worth at Real.

Good thing you mentioned that, because I remember him bitching about wanting to play midfield in Porto, while Vitor Pereira insisted that he'd be much more useful as a RB.
Later he said how thankful he was for having been "forced" to play RB here because it ended up opening the brazillian NT's door for him.

His speed and offensive prowess is what turns him into a RB built to play for dominant teams, that attack a lot and play every match to win. His brain doesn't always seem to agree though.

Makes sense that Danilo would be awesome in an inferior league. In fact, Portuguese league fullbacks have a tendency for being awesome and then failing to deliver overeas: Joao Perreira, Bosingwa, Danilo, Paulo Ferreira, Coentrao, the Uruguayan who left for Inter and, soon, Layun. Chelsea has had e best luck with Ferreira who was solid but unspectacular and Bosingwa, who was great for a short while and then very inconsistent.

Perhaps the tactical idiosyncrasies of the league make it easier for offensive fullbacks to flourish.
