I did. How wonderful! Roma got Real M.(H)

You will get demolished playing like that. You guys don't even know how you got qualified to the 1/8.

Great matches, and Porto is surely favourite against Schalke 04.

Ac Milan - Arsenal (Y). But as always, I can see Milan going through. They will play worst and win.

I don't really got it, that other MU fans are not satisfied with the draw.. Come on, i haven't seen Lyon playing that bad for years now! Even the fact they coped with the serious situation they were in, after the first 2 losses in the group stage, they simply cannot convince anyone of being that good. Previous years i'd tip them to be a title contenders, this year they're much weaker..

Senior Squad
Best match has of the round has to be Arsenal vs Milan

I dont know why everyone is writing off Milan just cus of age. Seriously we have NEVER won the damn competetion where as Milan KNOW how to do it. If anything Id say we are the underdogs going in. BUT I think if we shut down KAKA than Milan will have serious issues going forward.

Liverpool vs Inter is also one hell of a draw.

Wow, I seriously think Inter v Liverpool could definately become a classic!

It's also creepy that for the past week I've been telling my friend (he's a Liverpool fan) that Inter will get paired up with Liverpool! And look what happened!

I am definately excited for this match! May the best team win! (I'm only saying that because Inter are the best!)

I can't wait March 4 to give Liverpool fans a good, nice @sswhooping!!!

P.S. Roma and Madrid is bound to be exciting too!! :D

For Milan v. Arsenal, I think Milan will prevail...Milan are doing very bad in Serie A but the CL is completely different...in the end Milan will win since they are the most experienced!!

Nah, i think this time their age will put them in trouble. Sorry, but you can once win stuff with 33-year-olds, you might do it twice, but sooner or later they would get old enough to stop having luck with defensive tactics .. :P

Italian prone fans should be the most worried, since all 3 italian teams face an early way out of the tournament. It's just that their best 2 sides (Inter & Milan) face the toughest opponents possible, and i dare to say Pool will show Inter how to play european successful football, and Arsneal will not only outplay MIlan -which i think no one dares to oppose; i mean how could 30+ old guys oppose the speed and thrill of those kiddies?- but also beat them out. I do hope this time luck doesn't play as important role as it did during the .. hm last decade (!!!) fro them.

As of Roma - i think Madrid are catching on form and have a deeper roster choice, so even in case of injuries, they will be in a better position.

adobe_sun stop posting, you just say the same thing in every single post and every time you say it it sounds just as stupid as the last.

Kaka is faster on the ball than any player on the Arsenal roster.
Milan is the most organized and homogenized team in the competition hence why their age doesn't matter because they're always in the right place on the field. Arsenal might have a bunch of "kiddies" who can run forever but they'll make mistakes that Milan won't and that's why Milan will win.

Easy on the fellow dude (H)

Seriously thinking, AC Milan is prolly the best tactical team in the world right now. But you have to admit, most of the games, luck always looks right-handed on them. It gives me the nerves sometimes, that why I don't like to watch their games at all. Even some games of the Portuguese League are more exciting, and believe, the level here is quite low right now, except for the "3 Grandes". And Braga.

They won't win the CL this year, whatever.

I place my bet on Man Utd.

That Nice Guy
Celtic v Barcelona
Celtic won't have the legs at Celtic Park in the first leg i don't think, may well get a half decent result at the Camp Nou but Barca could well beat them on their home turf.

Olympique Lyonnais v Manchester United
Lyon aren't a good European team, they really arent. Man Utd will get a draw in France and beat them 2-0 at Old Trafford, one of those ties that's quickly forgotten.

Schalke 04 v Porto
Really good tie this, i reckon Porto will edge it as i just can't see Schalke getting anything on the away leg.

Liverpool v Inter Milan
Horrid draw for both teams, Liverpool get the in-form team in the world and Inter get the one team no-one really wants in the Champions League. I personally think we'll edge it, can see a scruffy 1-1 draw at the San Siro to put Pool through.

AS Roma v Real Madrid
Roma will be raped. And Madrid aren't even that good - i just really don't like what i've seen from Roma this year.

Arsenal v AC Milan
Best tie of the round, easily. Anything could happen, Arsenal are playing like world beaters at the minute but, well, it's AC Milan. I'll say the Italians will edge it on goal difference.

Olympiakos v Chelsea
Olympiakos are a truly awful team, how the **** they've got through i'll never know. This could be 0-2 in the first leg alone, never mind when they go to Stamford Bridge. Grant should be sacked if they don't go through.

Fenerbahce v Sevilla
Sevilla all the way, there isnt a chance in hell Fener will get anything in Spain, not even a goal.

Tom, I agree with most of your predictions, especially this one:

But in Inter v Liverpool I think Inter will win mainly because the return leg is at the San Siro.

Internazionale

Elo Ratings
I'm not too pleased with the draw (Liverpool vs Inter)

Some pundits from what I saw yesterday night (ESPN Asia) put the favorites Inter will go through.

as far as we all know Liverpool are such a big surprised team making a great come back in CL (last 3 games in this competition).

For the people giving the Real - Roma tie to Madrid without a second thought, I hope you know that Real has probably the worst defense out of all the 16 squads left. If not the worst than definitely the most prone to make mistakes. I think Roma has a VERY good chance to knock them out and I think they will.

oh and Tom I wouldn't discount Fener, they actually have some very good quality players who can change a game with a touch of brilliance. They have a good manager as well. Other than the Arsenal - Miland and Inter - 'Pool ties, Sevilla - Fener is the one tie I'm looking forward to the most.

$teauA, that's your own opinion. Maybe you're just too angry of me saying the truth sometimes, and this might somehow hurt your football likes, but please stop act like that, mate, it's not friendly :)

Fener are good, but Sevilla are tactically and overall throughout the past 2 season better. Like i said in previous discussion on Seville - they're not creme de la creme, but are definitely becoming a european giant, so like i said, they could easily reach quarterfinal with a good draw, and i guess they got themselves a good draw. After all, let's face it, all First Pot teams wanted to play Fener and Olympiacos... So, basically Chelsea and Seville must be the happiest ones.
I guess i wouldn't mind playing Schalke as well, since they only managed to beat the almighty Rosenborg :D twice, to manage qualification, but anyway, i guess Porto would have been happier to draw a team with a different style of play than Schalke's. Though i tip Porto as favs in that tie, for sure. :)
By the way, would be great if Porto reach a semifinal somehow, would be massively hard, since they lost to Pool 1-4, in the away games they weren't that confident.

You got a point saying Madrid are weak defensively (and how could it be different - with this 30+ year old Canavaro - the weakest World Cup Player No.1 i have ever seen yet..), but Roma just can't convince me they can overcome someone big in knockout stages. Last year they beat Lyon and that was that. Then BANG 1-7 and out. I hope this year they show us more quality, but let's face it - they were joined by Guily only, and lost very important players like Chivu. So.. hm, i can't see them going through Madrid. After all, they weren't very convincing in one of the easiest groups by far.
Sporting should have beaten them on Jose Alvalade, and even ManU reserves were playing 1-on-1 with the Roma's starting eleven, so i'd rather say Roma would go out, unless they don't sign some good central defender.

Very happy to get ac milan. Their dinosaur defence will not be able to handle arsenals speed.

Ahem.. this is what Man U fans all said last year before the 2 legs.. we all know what happened.

Realistically though I can't predict this... but if your just gonna write off Milan cause their "old" then.. you got another thing coming. Thats what every Man U fan said last year, and I personally loved it when they were knocked out.

Also I'm hoping Inzaghi starts over Gila.. say what you want about him but the man scores big goals when it matters.

Internazionale: Mate, of course everyone says Inter are favorites because they are one of the most in-form teams at the moment and Liverpool aren’t doing that well. And don’t be discouraged…Liverpool may have won their last 3 matches but Inter also has been very consistent and focused so far, and let’s hope it continues. Inter can defiantely win the CL (and they will)

I think the Roma vs Real tie is very exciting because it will be very close. Real has a crappy defense and Roma are true fighters. But I still think Real will pull it off.

And I too believe Fener has a very very good chance against Sevilla. Alex is on fire!

So what if Milan are old? They proved it last year that age was a factor that didn’t matter for them. They proved old guys are just as good as the young guys. And one year does not change that. I think Milan will win since they are more experienced in the CL than Arsenal. All Milan needs to be is compact at the back and swift up front.
