CG File Explorer 18

Finally started editing with CGFE (it's amazing!) but I've ran into some issues. Hopefully someone can help.

So far, I've managed to change the following successfully:
  • Team name (inc. database name, full name, 15 chars, 10 chars and score board)
  • Badges
  • Minikits
  • Banner
  • Flags
  • Kit textures (crest, color, normal, coeff)
  • Positions (jersey badge, number, name, etc.)
All changes made to these items in CGFE are effective in game

However (and this is where I hope someone can help/explain why), when I change the following, nothing happens:
  • Kit make (collar type basically)
  • Shorts number colour
  • Name colour
  • Jersey number colour
I'm really struggling to understand why this is the case. Everything I've changed, apart from these, works.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

You must use the DA Save first before you Create Mod if u edit database details. Ive edited all these and it works in game.

no one to answer or to help me please ??
Locate the boot dds files and replace the ones you want. That's it I think, you can't add more files, you can only replace them, that's in the read-me file.

There is a playerboots table in the db, I would guess you can add more codes/boots that way. I've seen new boot codes posted around here somewhere, try the ID thread.

Thanks for the suggestion. Obviously I've done this though otherwise all the other changes I made wouldn't have worked.

I changed things step-by-step. After successfully changing team name, badges, minikits, etc. I moved onto kits but the name/number colour changes won't stick (despite using the same exact method as before). It's strange

Did you try to import/switch using the Bundles path? That's the method I use for kits.

Thanks. The problem isn't with the kits themselves but with the collars that the game then applies to them. I've told the game to apply a certain style but it ignores me and applies the default. In the same way it ignores what I put for name/number colour and just applies the default.

I may be wrong but I don't think that can be addressed through the bundles path? It can only be changed via the DA or DBM.

From what you're saying, then it sounds like you need to try manually editing kit details like number colors and collars in the teamkits db table. Remember, the DA/Creation Master has bugs, and it could be those edits don't save in the DA.

Yes I thought that too so edited the entries in the db via DBM (within CGFE) but again, the changes were not effective in game. It's very strange. I must be doing something wrong.

Maybe my CGFE patch file is corrupted somehow or the changes I've made are causing a problem or something. I don't know.

I'll try changing the collars/number colours of existing kits without making any other changes.

Thanks!

I doubt you are doing anything wrong. The numbers/colors are probably kit-specific dds files. To change them, you would need to switch them out for dds files with different-colored numbers. I'm only guessing, I don't edit kits, all I do is assign generic bright green GK kits to GKs who have those ugly generic kits EA created. I leave things like number colors and collars as the team default.

Also, there are all kinds of values in the db tables that have no effect in-game. So you can't go by that.

I have made LA FC and managed to change font type, kit numbers and their colors, collars, etc. There is nothing I haven't been able to do.
Make the edits in the DA then export the tables and import them to your last tested solid database.

Thanks regularcat. I have done the first part (making edits in the DA) but I'm not sure how to "export the tables and import them".

When I click on 'DB Master' and then 'Export DB' I get the following error:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

EDIT: It's working now! Not sure exactly what I've done differently. It may be to do with the fact that when I was loading the game up it told me the squad file was damaged. Rather than delete it, beforehand I was just clicked 'cancel'. However, this time I deleted it. That was probably what was keeping the kit numbers etc. from changing...?

Any table that is in a squads file will load over an edited database table every time. The reason I convert the squads files to databases.
