Can't play on xbox live

I can't seem to play on xbox live with this game. When I go to any feature of the xbox live mode, it trys to connect to the server but than tells me that I have to be connected to xbox live first to use any of these features in fifa. I double checked to see if I was connected to xbox live through the dashboard and I am but it still gives me that error. Am I missing something? Any help would be great. TIA!

Well after posting here and no answers for 2 days...I did a google search and found the solution. It seems like this is a common bug in this game. To fix it, just change the date of your xbox back to 1/1/05 (you have to sign out of xbox live first). So weird but it worked!
