First of all friends NEVER do business with Direct2drive.
I have loved the EA Fifa series and despite past problems I want to get this version running. I have been trying since teh day it came out. I won't bore you with the details but I'ma victim of the ATI sturttering issue and also had a smallish PC. I've gone ahead and spent hundreds of dollars for a new completely system QuadCore/WIndows 7/4 gigs ram/ massive Radeon graphics card etcc.
My durrent issue is - I can't install the 1.01 patch. I bougth the game from Direct2drive and they provide no real support! They just say 'talk to EA Sports'. BASTARDS. So I don't own a DVD - instead i have instalkled and reinstalled from their download which is incompatible with EA's official patch! When your patch starts up the error reads 'Old file not found. However a file of teh same name was found. No update done since teh contents don't match.'
What a crappy message! It doesnt tell me which file is the issue or what to do about it!
