Buying FIFA 14 today

If I buy a copy of FIFA 14 from someone, either on disc or with a code, will the installation work? Is it just that the game's servers no longer work for buying or playing online? Or is it that the game won't install properly at all? Can I get any help on this?

The Fifa 14 game will install and play flawless on any windows platform: above 7 and subsequent 8.1 & 10!!! As you pointing right in the second question you will not longer able to play online games!!!

Ok. So if you have the disc you're fine. But what if you buy a code from someone? Will that code let you download the game? I guess not right? Because if you buy a code you have to also have a link to the game on Origin?
