Bug question?

After making a custom team, the players in any game I try to play are made up of glowing, transparent, diamond shaped polygons of a pinkish colour. Did I type in a cheat by accident or is this a bug?

Thanks,

King Kenny.

Hi there!

First I want to let everyone know that I'm very pleased that there's finally a soccergame that can compete with the Fifa series!

The thing that I trully regret about UEFA Challenge is the fact that the developers didn't get more time to finish the game completly. That's the reason that there are some serious bugs in the game and they're very annoying. Here are some bugs that I found the last few days....

* A shot agains te post is counted as a goal

* During the kick-off the ball is'nt between the players but somewhere behind them

*The ball sometime goes THROUGH the net!!

* When te ball goes out of play it sometimes appears that the player can't find it. The player is walking around as a drunk elephant and you can't continue the game.....

*Sometimes the ball is on the ground in case of a throw-in instead of in the hands of the player

*It happened that i deserved a corner and instead of taking the corner myself the corner was for the other team on the other side of the field!!!!!!!!

And there are a few more, but the ones I've mentioned are very disturbing!!

UEFA Challenge is a 'missed opportunity'. it has all the potential of being a Fifa-killer, the gameplay is fine and the graphics are gorgeous.....but i'ts a unfinished product and I truly hope the developers can make it up with 'a hell of a patch'!!

And another tip for the developers: I want to use the mouse in the menus!! We're talking about a PC game and not about a Console game.

Sorry guys from Infogrames.....I wish the game was completely finished. Then it could be THE soccergame of the year. Please, bring us the patch and last but not least: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

I agree cyrillius it has the makings of an excellent game but companies don't like to hold products back. It's their first game - for infogrames anyway, Actuas been around for as long as Ive had a PC still got the
box-bit dusty though.

By the fact that the developers are communicating directly with gamers puts them one step ahead of FIFA along with the fact that theyre not based in Canada-hardly a Football mad nation.
I don't think a patch will make this game the best, think WE5 has got that tied up, but it'll kill fifa off.

Hi,
I was lead programmer for the Pc Version of Uefa Challenge.

The team are taking note of all the comments ( good and bad ) and I can tell you we are working on a patch right now based on your feedback :)

Cheers,
Ste.

I strongly disagree with you when you said "UEFA Challenge is a 'missed opportunity'". Look how popular it is right now among the FIFA community, and how long ago was it released?

And another thing, are you trying to tell me FIFA 2001 is a finished product?? LOL!!! Oh my! Good joke Cyriel, my stomach is hurting from laughing so much :D

PS. Why not take a difference int the number of wishes for the FIFA wish list and the UEFA wish list

PSS. I think a UEFA 2002 and FIFA 2002 comparison will be *VERY* interesting

Hello there,

I want to give a reaction on the SCTW message and make one thing very clear.
UEFA CHALLENGE is a great game and I can tell you that my version of Fifa 2001 is already covered with dust because of this new footie. What I wanted to say with 'unfinished product' is that the bugs in the game certainly wouldn't be there if the developers had more time to 'finish'it.
With 'missed opportunity' I meant that without the bugs the game would be much better than it is already, because they effect "the complete experience" a little too much at this time.

About Fifa 2001: That game is finished because there are no such bugs (the ones I've mentioned) in it. I totally agree with you that the game isn't finished when you look at the gameplay and depth of the game. Jon, Stephen and the rest of the team did a MUCH better job!

EA Sports has been the world leader in soccergaming since the first edition of Fifa (for the PC that is.......). Now , finally, there is a game wich is much more fun to play and I trully like the details they came up with (For example the turf, the different types of goals in the stadiums, the 'cold breath' of the players etc.) The gameplay is not as 'predictable' as it is in Fifa. The 'passing' is also a mayor step forwards.

I'm sure that if the upcoming patch will get rid of most bugs, the game will be 'almost perfect'. At this time I'm already looking forward to the release of 'Uefa Challenge 2002'!! But untill that time I will enjoy playing U.C. very much.

P.S. I'm very pleased that Jon and Stephen take the time to 'listen' to the reactions in this forum and directly interact with the gamers! I hope they'll be an example for other developers. Thanks guys.

I rest my case....

Cyriel
