Sounds like you've done well.

Just so I understand correctly... you're in the group stages? You must have made a lot of money.

Yeah, Winterthur is rich now. Not just from the prize and TV money but also from player sales.

I get monthly payments from selling Nicolas Galvan (he's the $5m figure you see), Yohan Viola, and Bastian Nicoud. Barca also has to come to Winterthur in Feb, Fiorentina too (I'm their "feeder club").

Currently dealing with this:

Is football a minor sport there? Obviously FM isn't a reflection of reality but they got swept aside really easily.
Yup, the standard of the league is incredibly poor. You actually got a very lucky draw, Estonia regularly provides one of the worst teams to the CL qualifiers. Read some of my and clash's threads regarding it:

If any Estonian player becomes half decent they immediately leave Estonia.

http://www.soccergaming.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3512550&postcount=10 This is amazing.

Scotland sucks on here. I tried to play an exotic tactic (with Winterthur I've switched from 4-4-2 to a possession-based 4-2-3-1, I tried a 3-2-2-2-1 with Scotland) and it was awful, they got totally swapped. So now I have them play something Pulis would play and they're alright with it, they beat teams like Georgia, but they get stomped by Germany. I guess it's to be expected but it borders on humiliating. It's especially bad when Darren Fletcher is unavailable.

If anyone is wondering this is how I usually line the team up now:

I like how it still says "4-4-2 Attacking".

Haha, yeah FM is rediculous at that.

Neat formation, I found it that in previous versions common tactics other than the 4-4-2 didn't work too well.

I've never had a high performing 4-2-3-1 because of the space left between the back 4 and 2 MCs. 4-1-2-2-1 is now my go-to tactic but it's a bit too safe.

Arousing.

Thoroughly undeserved too. They dominated the match at the Velodrome and should've won by three. Vieira was extraordinary.

Shot quality, I think. I defend really deeply to stop teams from getting good looks in the box, the keepers can usually handle shots from 18-20 yards with relative ease. It doesn't always work though, Zurich recently Carlos*ed me up pretty good.

I've never had success with a deep line. If the other team gets the ball there they can shoot on goal from closer.

I have the opposite problem. I feel like when I play high I give up the ball and they just rip me to shreds.

If you're playing a high line I noticed it's important for your team to pressure a lot (closing down), that way the opponents don't have time to think of their through pass.

I'm thinking about playing a high pressure style next season if I can get in the personnel during the summer window.
