Best Movie Soundtrack

(I don't know if this kind of thread have been up before. Didn't find anything when searching.)

So what movie do you think has the best music?

My vote goes to GoodFellas. What a soundtrack.

"Layla", "Sunshine of your Love", "Unchained Melody", "Gimme Shelter", "Monkey Man", "Leader of the Pack". These are just a few of the amazing songs which makes this movie what it is. Without the music, this movie wouldn't have been half as good. The "Layla" (piano exit) scene is probably my favourite scene from a movie ever.

in terms of songs has to be The Matrix. Not one bad song and I got to know several top notch bands with that soundtrack. I still play it very often.

Too bad the quality of the Reloaded and Revolutions soundtracks lowered as much as the films.

Agree with Gladiator, Tom. In the last scene, when Maximus goes to Elysium (he dies), I'm seriously on the verge of crying :(

The music is amazing in that scene.

Good idea for a thread...

Talking soundtracks as opposed to scores, I would definatey say Mean Streets, such a great, raw assembly of tracks and so refreshing for the time. Second would be Easy Rider, for much the same reasons, and third would be every Tarantino film, especially Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill, though all four (five if you count KB as two) are absolutely awesome.

Tarantino movies always have great soundtracks, but Im going with Garden State (Y)

Jude Law's Alfie also has a great Mick Jagger soundtrack.

Matrix Reloaded. 2 Rob D's clips covered whole ****tiness of the other songs.

Shawshank's Orchestral stuff really makes the opening of the film.

As for licensed soundtracks, I'll be a coward and say 24 Hour Party People.

Have to mention "Almost Famous" here as well.

A movie with "Rocket Man", "Tiny Dancer", "Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters", "Paranoid", "Sweet Leaf", "Cortez the Killer", etc. etc. etc. has to be mentioned.
