my sentiments exactly, Shinji. PBF has all the talent and natural gifts (except for power, of course) in the world to be the most entertaining and flair-filled boxer out there, but his game is a lot like the Catenaccio in soccer. He deliberately chooses to play it safe and create off the counters.

Anyway, as much as I love the HBO crew, was it necessary for wife-beating Lampley to **** all over MMA in his post match analysis of the fight? He's supposed to be a professional for God sakes, man.. I'm really sick of both sides having goes at one another like a bunch of prepubescent bitches. Why can't both sports exist side-by-side healthily? Why do MMA fans wish death upon boxing and vice versa? It's just ******* stupid imo. Most good-to-honest MMA fans who aren't these faggot TUFers respect boxing and wish it no harm,. They may not be as enamored with the sport as they once were, but at the same time, they're not ******* badmouthing it at the slightest provocation like so many of these noob ****s that you see nowadays, man. Kudos to Kellerman for defending the attributes of MMa'ers btw.

Yeah, I find most TUF'ers really annoying, not only do they want to see boxing fade into obscurity, but they're also the one's who prayed for and celebrated when Pride was forced to sell (being completly unaware of what the Pride organization has done for MMA during it's existance under Japanese ownership). I think what gets under my skin most is that for the majority of them MMA is just the flavour of the month... as soon as SpikeTV stops showing TUF or any UFC, they'll go back to watching WWE and forget about MMA.

Personally, It makes me sad to see what boxing's become, and I have to say I felt a lot of dissapointment after DLH-PBF. If this was supposed to be the best boxing had to offer at this point in time, then I think the writing's on the wall as to it's future. Unfortunatly.

Lampley's just desperate and he's clinging to anything right now. It's too bad that a lot of boxing's enthusiasts have sunk to that level.

some good points there, bro.

I don't think that boxing will ever die off. It's all cyclical imo. They've been crowing about it's demise for a long time now and yet its still doing moderately well considering the circumstances of the heavyweight division. It still draws well in Europe and also in some parts of Asia. And in America? With the Hispanic community taking over as the second biggest minority group, I think that its got a pretty solid foundation to continue to draw from.

Amateur boxing ain't what it used to be......and a lot of the athletes who used to take up boxing are now choosing other sports or just arent being developed. But so long as it has that one or two big name draws, it'll be alright imo.

btw......65% of the 16k seat stadium had a price tag of $2k or over....that's ******* nuts. So you probably had some pretty big celebs with ****ty-ass seats...hurhur.

I'm guessing this is the official boxing thread since we don't have one...

Gentlemen and gentlemen, Mexico has a new Walterweight Champion and yet another boxing here is born.

The pride of Tijuana, Baja California (my backyard); Antonio Margarito punished Miguel Cotto untill the 11the round when Cotto couldn't gut up from his knees no mo'.

Next on Margarito's list is the man I still hold a grudge against for what he did to the greatest Mexican boxer of all time (and personal sports here), Julio Cesar Chavez. If this fight happens I'm damn sure Antonio "el tornado" Margarito would retire frijoles De La Hoya once and for all.

QUE VIVA ANTONIO MARGARITO & QUE VIVA TIJUANA, B.C.!
