Rummenigge said Ruud wants to come to Bayern and they will try everything to make it happen.

Of course Whatever is best for the club. What's this rumor I hear that Magath is gonna bring back Guerrero back in the future?
I haven't heard anything about that but If he develops into a worldclass striker why not. Would be a typical Bayern move, let your promising young players go for cheap and overpay on them a few years later.

How is Ottl progressing so far? I feel he would do great in the first team and get some starts now that Ballack and Ze Roberto are gone.
I can't see him getting any playing time this season. Demichelis and Hargreaves are gonna fight it out for the dm role with one being a reserve, Lell will back-up both full back positions and Ismael is the third cb. (:/)

Let them overpay and since you there don't overspend for RVN. Talking about above mediocre players made famous only couse of their hairstyle. Him and C. Ronaldo will fit fine in the picture.

I don't know about Rooney though. :(

Why do you want a overrated player? He isn't that good. If Man Utd do get him DON'T OVER PAY his ass. :p

At 22 he's one of a small few options there is out there and he can only get better. At his age he has a better goal per game ratio than Van Nistelrooy did, in a better league for a weaker team than Van Nistelrooy.

Oh, and he moves, Van doesn't. Always a plus. (Y)

looks like a super team in the making
Old/Young Class players (Van Buyten, Kahn vs Schweini, Poldi)

What a bloody good Team you will have for the upcoming season

Oliver Kahn - still one of the best keepers
Sagnol - one of the best right backs, not only in the World Cup
Lahm in fine form and after a great world cup
Van Buyten - a bargain buy - he will be a rock
hardworking-teamplayer Hagreaves
a grown up Super Schweini
one half of the "Polska"-strikeforce - Podolski
added with Makaay maybe even Nistelrooy

Who is going to be the (new) Captain ?

Bayern make Ruud claim

Bayern have long courted the unsettled Manchester United striker, who has been on the periphery at Old Trafford ever since being axed for February's Carling Cup final.

Now Rummenigge has revealed that the Dutchman, too, is hankering after a switch to Die Bundesliga and the Allianz Arena club.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has so far refused to discount the 30-year-old from his plans for the forthcoming season but it appears as though van Nistelrooy has decided that his future lies away from The Red Devils.

"The player wants to join us, that is already known," Rummenigge told Bild Am Sonntag.

"We will settle the issue in due course - there is no reason to hurry.

"We have to talk with the player and, of course, Manchester United as well."

General manager Uli Hoeness has revealed that Bayern are active on a number of fronts as they bid to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign.

The German Rekordmeister have already signed Lukas Podolski and Daniel van Buyten but are still hoping to add at least one more big-name signing.

"There are some things in the pipeline," revealed Hoeness.

Let's get realistic. Without a decent cm and midfield leader that can feed the strikers the team will have trouble winning the league.

Kahn's gonna be the new and old captain.

Van Buyten - a bargain buy - he will be a rock

10,5 million is hardly a bargain

hardworking-teamplayer Hagreaves
who will be warming the bench since Demichelis is better

a grown up Super Schweini
aka Mr Inconsistent

one half of the "Polska"-strikeforce
I would rather have the other half.

As usual I agree with Vince's takes.

When Kahn leaves who do you think is the captain? I was thinking probably Lucio, but a long shot could be maybe Sagnol. You don't see too many captains at right back though.

sagnol is the longest serving player, i think its very appropriate for him to be captain.

Weren't bayern keen on getting Camoranessi? Actually with tomorrow verdict in the italian soccer scandal pending Bayern should keep an eye on Milans, Juves and Lazios players as well.
Pirlo would be nice to have in front of Lucio and Van Buyten.

Sagnol seems to be a bit too calm on and off the pitch and then there's the language barrier which also applies to Lucio. The captain should speak the German language fluently but neither can.

The German guys are all too young so I'd go with van Buyten. His leadership abilities were one of the main reasons that we bought him. He became captain at Hamburg in his first season and did a good job at that.

Oh I didn't realize Lucio and Sagnol weren't fluent in German; they've been there for so long, I would think they would be pretty solid. Especially Sagnol, I'm surprised he didn't learn German as a kid.

Hendrik

Team Captain
Well there's one thing you can always be sure about: Brazilian and French players are not going to learn German. Lizarazu, Sagnol, Micoud, Ze Roberto, Lucio, Juan, Gilberto, Marcelinho, Ailton etc.
The great Giovane Elber was an exception. :)

Anyone know which channel will broadcast the Bundesliga in Canada this season? If its FSWC, i hope they get the rights to the big games. They only showed 2 Bayern games last season and I watched the season on the Internet. Too bad that's not an option anymore.

yea they used to have this german tv going on, but not anymore, damn canada :( i have to find a way to watch :gavin:

and about the language barrier, i saw ze roberto speaking german at an adidas convention in germany when they came out with the new adidas shoes.

If Ruud goes to Bayern, i'll love Bayern! :bob:

or would you prefer this

Toni chased by Big Guns

Toni, who hit the bar and had a goal disallowed in Sunday's World Cup final, is being tipped to leave Fiorentina during the summer.

Fiorentina remain insistent that the hit-man, who scored over 30 goals in Serie A last season, will not be sold before the start of next season.

Internazionale have already declared an interest in the former Palermo ace and are awaiting the outcome of the match-fixing scandal, which could see the Viola relegated.

But Inter could be rivalled for Toni's signature by Bayern and Real, with both clubs in the market for a new striker.

Bayern are also keen on Ruud van Nistelrooy, but could turn to Toni, if Manchester United are not persuaded to sell the Dutch hot shot.

Real, now under the charge of Fabio Capello, are also interested in Toni, along with Juventus forward David Trezeguet.

Reports suggest Real could allow Inter free rein to sign Toni, if they are able to conclude a deal for Trezeguet.
