Attributes on FM

We all have our opinion on them, but we are not completely sure about them. We assume a certain attribute helps a player in a certain area of his game. Since it is as much an important part of the game as tactics, it would help to increase our knowledge of them. But there are many attributes we are not completely sure how they work, even some technical attributes as well. I do not have the answers. In fact, I have a few questions about specific attributes and their effect.

Some already know all the attributes in the game, but I will type them down so they will be readily readable for all of us.

TECHNICAL:
Corners, Crossing, Dribbling, Finishing, First Touch, Free Kicks, Heading, Long Shots, Long Throws, Marking, Passing, Penalty Taking, Tackling, Technique.

MENTAL:
Aggression, Anticipation, Bravery, Composure, Concentration, Creativity, Decisions, Determination, Flair, Influence, Off the Ball, Positioning, Team Work, Work Rate.

PHYSICAL:
Acceleration, Agility, Balance, Jumping, Natural Fitness, Pace, Stamina, Strength.

GOALKEEPING:
Aerial Ability, Command Of Area, Communication, Eccentricity, Handling, Kicking, One On Ones, Reflexes, Rushing Out, Tendency To Punch, Throwing.

Exposing them here I hope we all can have our say about those attributes, for discussing them will arguably help even the most experienced players. And the less advanced players can gain some useful knowledge from the more advanced players.

I will start by asking you to discuss "Corners v. Crossing." Do corner takers need good crossing abilities as well as corner abilities to put in decent corners in the area?

yes.

i'd say no otherwise there would be hardly any use for the Corners attribute at all. Though a player's Corner attribute would probably be quite reliant on their passing and crossing scores.

I want to believe that as well. Many times a player with high corner abilities also has high crossing ability (and sometimes passing), so very rarely do we have to face the dilema of deciding between crossing and corners for our corner takers.

it`s nothing new but pay attention to composure for strikers and concentration for defenders. they`re crucial.

Thanks for reminding us. But is "Concentration" important for Goalkeepers? I have a feeling it is. And I also like a "brave" defender, because I think it makes him go into tackles more. Does anyone feel the same way?

One more thing. I assume that Crossing comprises every lobbed pass by an outfield player, for Kicking compensates for it for goalkeepers.

Concentration is very important for GKs. Lacking it is what makes them fail to make a save after a boring one-sided game where he has had nothing to do, and the opponent scores from their only counter.
