8-0 against Viking. Ladies also won their Conti Cup match against Notts County.

Missed this one. Wenger's got a sword now it seems. Can't whine anymore.

Don't worry Arsenal fans, Utd may have signed by pogba and city may have signed stones but you guys appear to have a big signing lined up too...

He'd do as emergency cover to be honest. You don't need a superstar defender to cover a few months. Man U has won titles for years with him in defense. I honestly didn't think he was too bad but is certainly not elite.

Imo, needed a starting CB from the get go this summer regardless of Per and Gab's injuries. Beggars can't be choosers in case Evans turned up but fortunately, just got assured we're very very close to wrapping up Mustafi.

I don't know why Arsenal fans are mad at Arsene Wenger ... he's who he is ... happy with not spending, champions league spot and champions league QF ... it really shows the lack of ambition at top management level that Wenger is still in charge despite decade of no league success ... PSG won domestic double but their board still sacked Blanc because they want UCL title or remember when Inter hired Mourinho and it paid off ... Yes, Chelsea changed 10000 more managers than Arsenal in last decade but they won league, champions league and even fucking europa league ...

I'm so amazed Wenger is still there while he could deliver title at least last year.

Because if you're up there at the end of the year, and in the Quarter Finals, you have a chance to win the competition. Fact is, instability from managers correlates with lack of success; Chelsea can just spend their way out of trouble every few years. Arsenal can't. It makes no sense whatsoever to fire Wenger. There's no one who could succeed like that so consistently in the world that you could replace him with and do it on that budget. It's virtually impossible. The front office has hamstrung him with the budget and they understand that you can't compete for the title on that budget. Yeah Leicester did it, but that was a fluke, they were dead last in the league 15 months before winning it.

your concept is so stupid ... Wenger at office is one of the dumbest in history ...

What Shifty said used to be true and is why Wenger didn't get too criticised for the first 5-6 years he went without a major trophy but the truth is the new TV deals, champions league money every year and the (admittedly brief) leveller of fanancial fair play means that Arsenal could compete financially now and choose not too and I think this is what drives Arsenal fans nuts

We have more than enough resources to compete for sure. The squad situation is pretty good apart from an attacker or two with Mustafi really close.

My biggest problem with Wenger is his tactical methodology. Its amateurish and despite Elneny coming on and totally taking control against City... Imo, we're under prepared, tactically. Verydisjointed and clueless in terms of how we should be playing. Positional play, no man marking, same old predictable attacking with zero micromanagement from Arsene on particular positions. Too many gaps, lack of sync and collective movement is not as good. Funnily enough, what we're very good at is getting back in shape to park the bus.

Elneny btw, is the best 1-2 touch passer I've seen at Arsenal in ages. With Xhaka its a very promising partnership. He seems to play with this beaming joy, confidence and efficiency. I was impressed the very first performance for us and he basically saved our season.

In terms of other positives are Iwobi whose potential is clear that he is here to stay. Akpom I'm 100% sure has a role to play this season and despite being poor has scored multiple very poacher esque goals which is a good sign. New Japanese signing Takuma Asano and forgotten super talent, Gnabry have been tearing it up at the Olympics.

Gnabry is a player of serious talent and stalled till his very poor loan at WBA. Since returning to the reserves has worked incredibly hard and doing fantastic for Germany.

With Mustafi hopefully soon to arrive, we need one or two players max to have a proper squad with no holes at all. Whether that'll be enough is another story.
