Cesc should be your 10, but who knows if he'll even still be there come August.

It's seems like the new #10 is going to be RVP, his number on the official site is listed as pending due to new # request. Will be funny seeing the a flying Dutchman take the Non-Flying Dutchman's jersey.

Latest name is Tasci from VfB Stuttgart whom we are reportedly competing with Spurs to sign since they missed out on Kjær.

You've gotta love a player with a Godfather shirt.

Hopefully Koscielny is not even close to being our last signing of the summer.

Agree I still feel that we need to add at least 3 more players:
A keeper (hopefully we do not penny pinch with someone like Schwarzer and add somebody of real quality, though I'll concede that anyone really is an improvement over Almunia).

Next we'll need another CB since we'll only have Djourou, Tommy and Kos as our remaining CBs following the departure of Gallas, Silvestre and Sol.

Another CM/DM is vital because Song cannot be run to the ground by playing to many games (ditto for all our players). I've been a fan of Moussa Sissoko who has long been a Gooner just like Chamakh, he will slot in well and I will prefer to see him deputize for Song rather than Mehnilson.

Yeah we still have a lot to sort out this summer.
1. Let's get a new keeper. I think all fans and even Wenger know this.
2. If we do lose Sol, Sylvest, and Gallas we are VERY thin in the CB position. Two more are necessary to provide depth, but I hope we can keep Sol and get just one.
3. I think Gohkan Inler would take this team to another level. He and Cesc would be a top quality, trophy winning combo.
4. Let's free up some cash by letting Rosicky and Eduardo go. I like both of them a lot, but I think they've served their purpose for us. We'd still have a lot of players who could play in the front 3 of our 4-3-3. How good they all are is another question.

He is to make his Red Bulls debut against Tottenham on July 22. Having scored a club-record 226 goals for Arsenal from 1999-07, it's more than an exhibition game.

"I won't even mention the name of the team that we are going to play on the 22nd," he said. "That's how big a rivalry is it for me."

Legend. Pity I won't be making the game.

you guys need more muscle in the middle. coz creative midfielders you have by the dozen Inler would fit perfectly plus he have great ball control and proved passing skils..

Dudu's transfer to Shakhtar is official, I'm pretty sad about this transfer he clearly was a great player till that thug Taylor hacked him down. Best of luck to him in Shakhtar.

So what's the deal with Fabregas? are you guys a selling club? last year without him you struggled, without him the whole season will be complicated.

it's like you don't want to win anything anymore.

We have to sell him. He wants to go home and the whole saga is a mess and unpleasant. The only reason he isn't gone is that Barça can't/won't meet our valuation and AW is still angry with Laporta. Either way he has to go it's best for all three parties (and then maybe Mesut can wear red and white and be our new #12 :)).

I disagree that Cesc has to go this summer. Whether he stays or goes Barca's constant tapping up has been an absolute disgrace. At the moment I hate those ****ers as much as any team.

They're only doing it because he wants them to. It's the best way for him to push for the move since he doesn't want to anger the fans or put in a(n official) transfer request. Barcelona isn't really tapping him up, I agree that whatever they've been doing is excessive and mostly disrespectful but if he did not want them to do so then he would have told them to stop a long time ago. I say "he has to go" not because I don't like him, but keeping him here when his heart is elsewhere will just hurt the team especially since he's captain.

It looks like Sol will resign now that Sunderland signed Bramble and Newcastle denied interest. I hope we see that as an bonus not an addition and hopefully get another CB, the lack of links to defenders or goalkeeper is quite worrying as I don't think I can bear to see Almunia or Fabianski in goal next season. I just watched the Barnet and Sturm Graz games and the new kits look great, Manny Frimpong is a beast I hope he plays more this preseason and Wilshere is Wilshere.

as a 16-year-old, Cesc wanted to leave Barcelona, and join you guys for a quicker and more assured path to first-team football ... Barça couldn't do anything about it because Spanish law prevents them from offering him a contract before he turned 18, while in England they could offer him a contract under certain conditions ... there was nothing Barça could do!

the compensation fee given to Barça after FIFA's intervention (not of Arsenal's own initiative) would have covered for the living expenses (room, board) that Cesc got, and nothing close to the potential value of the player over and above that ... apparently that wasn't "disrespect" from you guys towards Barça because the player himself wanted to go ...

well, now Cesc wants to go home and has publicly declared as much ... and so Barça coming in for him with a fair bid is disrespect? while the Arse asking for 50-60 million isn't further disrespect to Barça?

I'm not going to exclude Cesc from criticism on this matter either ... by 2006, it was clear that everyone knew Fàbregas' quality, and that he was on the radar of all the major clubs, including his European champion hometown club ... so why at that point would you sign a new contract till 2014 without thoroughly considering the probability of wanting to leave for home earlier? moron ...

I think they are talking about:

1) Xavi stating he has Barca DNA, that it is inevitable
2) Messi stating he hopes they sign him this summer
3) Xavi + Pique putting him in a Barca jersey
4) Villa saying he will do whatever he can to bring him
5) Pedro saying he hopes he comes

Understandable, but they are players and the medias ask them, they aren't much for politics and typically say what they have on their mind. Can't blame Xavi and Co for answering the questions the medias ask them without being political, they could care less.

The only act I think was really wrong was the forcing of the shirt, but again they are friends and it was a joke. The ones to blame are the medias for blowing it out of porportion, it was never meant to be an attack on Arsenal, simply a joke.

If they are b*tching about Rosell and Laporta saying that we have a good chance of signing Cesc, or saying we are evaluating a transfer. That is plainly ridiculous, and they can read what Wenger said before they presented a formal offer for Chamakh:

"He is one of the players who has a good chance to join us."

-Wenger, speaking about Chamakh

I'm just going to say this, I read an interview were Pep said he would play Cesc as a defensive mid....

if I was Cesc I would think long and hard if I'm going to be playing first team football, and in the right position at Barca.

how old is Xavi? I think he's older than Iniesta in any case.
