It will be hard to remain constructive, but I will try my best.

First of all, I would like to ask you all which user platform has made EA thrive over the last decade? Which platform users remained loyal to EA, through the ups and downs? Yes, the PC users.

It's like a long marriage and now EA has literally dumped us for a younger, hotter chick... the console.

It's been a decade now that I for one remained faithful to EA even though I've been disappointed on some releases. I can tell you, however, that for a few years now it's been a tough ride.

People who recommend others of "moving on" or buying a next-gen console are missing the fact that most of us aren't ready to buy a 500$ gaming console to play one game.

To lay to rest the debate on consoles being better than PCs, PCs have better performance and better hardware. There are reasons to why consoles may run better for games but it's as simple as to looking as far as the operating system. Consoles really don't have one, it's more or less an "enhanced" system bios chip. Where as a computer has A LOT more going on than just the game running. And that is simply just the tip of the iceberg on that topic.

I won't ever own a newer console, mainly because I refuse to pay more money to just have a console, which is just a computer anyways, to game on. My computer is much more than just a game center. It does my work, as well as my entertainment. A console, just games. It's not really what I call a smart purchase.

We've already seen many bugs in the FIFA 08 demo. And not a lot of promise has been made of the PC version. In fact, I haven't seen one game play video of the game on current gen prior to the release of the demo. There wasn't even any information on the PC version of the game. Playing the demo, I feel that the graphics have not changed since 2006. The game play has improved a little but is no where near the 360 and PS3 versios.

Outdoing the PS3 and 360 is not an impossible task. As there are many very nice games for the PC. And according to a recent poll on which platform forum users are buying the game on shows that the PC is still the second most popular platform. So if this is all a marketing and deals scheme, what happened to supply and demand?

It's clear we are being cheated big time. Now that we have helped EA poise themselves over the past years as a major developer for new consoles, now that we have served EA as guinea-pigs for so many years, we are being dumped for there are hot chick consoles that will cash-in for the best games while we, PC users, bite the dust..

also they dont have time to focus on last gen its waste of time. it doesnt take long to make $500 2 weeks pay from work buys it. wow o so long. its a one time price u pay. if youre "not ready" to move on to the next gen thats your problem. and id rather spend $500 on a console than $2000-$3000 on a PC not including updating your graphics card, RAM, HDD size etc. PC is alot more expensive than a console u gotta update your PC often to play the newest games without any lag and at top quality. so logically a next gen console is ALOT cheaper than a PC.so think smart and buy a PS3. so u dont have to worry about paying lots of money to update it ever so often. so its runs games and top quality and speeds.

As far as spending money goes, the xbox 360 costs $399 here in Canada, but to buy a computer that would be able to run the next gen fifa08 would cost me far far more than that. A video card alone is probably around $200 and then you throw in the CPU and the rest and the console becomes a much cheaper solution.

So I keep my computer for work and the xbox handles the entertainment.

As far as loyal PC users go, there are many many PC users who are not loyal at all and who just download the pirated games. I'm sure there are many of such people on these forums right now and I'm sure that that is a huge reason as to why EA didn't try too hard with the PC version of the game this year. I know for a fact that game piracy is the reason to why the Russian league isn't included in the game. Most people there get pirated copies of the game and it didn't make sense for EA to include that league and appeal to fans who don't pay them so they went with the inferior (no offense) Irish, Czech and Australian leagues..

So,other than that.You know,if i wanted to buy ps3 i could do it even tomorrow.I have the money and i'd like to play fifa08 in next gen.What i don't like is to buy a new console for just one game.Also i don't like the way of thinking:"You have to buy ps3 to see a really new version of fifa." like EA is telling us with one way or another.
Other than that,speaking about acting smart,personally i do see vedeogames as an entertainment but with that money i could find something even better than a virtual soccer,you know what i mean?

yeah tooo poor theres no logic in rather playing it on PC than a console when u have to spend ALOT mroe on your computer than you would on a console so spending more money on something that is not even as good as the other makes no sense. unless they cant afford it. plus you act like FIFA is the only game on PS3 most if not all games. on PC are also on consoles. not to many games are PC only. there a quite a bit of amazing games on PS3 right now. example Warhawk. almost the best game i have ever played probably.

also online gaming on PS3 is godlike theres no lag at all you wont notice the difference between single player and multiplayer online (that is if you have a good connection). only time it lags is if people have ****ty connections like dial up or something happens to their connection. but 98%of the time its flawless. PS3 is a must get the

games are amazing the graphics are amazing. online is amazing. plus PS3 is not like ****box 360 or wii theres lots of other things u can do. browser internet and do w/e u want there. play music videos put ur photos on there. etc. play blue-ray movies, dvd,s with 1080p upscaling or w/e its called play PS2 and PS1 games (online works fine).

PS3 isnt just a gaming console its a entertainment centre its multy purpose. thats why PS3 is so amazing. and worth all the money. if u were to get all the functions of a PS3 in seperate machines (which u can get in seperate machines) it wold costs thousands. a blue ray player alone is over $1000. thats just the blue-ray player. dont even need to say more. also the ability to be able to control your Ps3 form anywhere in the world is awsome. i can play my music videos and look at my photos that are on my PS3 from my PSP ANYWHERE in the world that has a wireless connection. which is really cool. its like have a PSP with 60GB of data (or alot mroe if u use a higher storage HDD).

so the PS3 is very very versatile also theres firmware upgrades that add new stuff and functionality to the PS3. which makes it even better.

this is why you should make the Switch to Ps3. **** xbox 360 and wii. PS3 is the ****.

u can buy a HD TV and a PS3 and still spend like 500 less than just the computer. and you still gotta pay more for a nice video card.more ram etc. which would cost another $400-500 so thats paying $900-1000 more than a PS3 and an HD TV. not only thats not including the cost of maintaining your computer and keeping it up to date. that also costs a fortune. so ur saving $1000 instantly (which u can buy a ****load of games,blue ray movies etc with or save) and completly ditch the periodic maintenance.

so its a no brainer. the games are way better on PS3 not only graphics wise but the smoothness of the gameplay offline and online. also a very high % of games that are on PC are or will be on PS3. be smart and make the change.

You are so wrong. First, EA didn't put next gen effort into PC cause you need a super high end PC to run Fifa 2008 as smoothly and gorgeous as the 360 version. Fact. You can't run Bioshock, Gears and games like that on average PC's either. And that's fact. They make games for the masses not for the 3 or 4 people who have a superb Alienware setup! You can always get extra memory and a $500 graphics card but most people wouldn't waste their time or cash not to mention configurations, glitches and problems that are so prominant on PC's.

On to the 360 & PS3 versions...from what I've seen and read so far those versions are superb. I know EA has been putting out sh!t Fifa games for some time but they are taking next gen serious which is more than I can say for another company whose name I'll not mention.

You can always buy a $500 graphics card only to update it the next year again. What ever makes sense to you!

You can mess around with configurations, buy super expensive grfx cards and deal with bugs PC's are infamous for or spend $400 on a dedicated gaming machine that will be technologically relevant for at least 5 years! Make the choice. You say a console is not a worth it for you then you have to deal with last gen games from many developers. They don't make games solely for superhigh end PC's you know! Stop thinking you're so special that EA should make a game that not only a handful of you can run on your machines.

Macs for work, consoles for gaming. PC's for installing virus "protection"

Stop right there! You have RFOm and that's it. Oh and now Lair which got bad reviews. That's it. 360 has Bioshock which owns the whole PS3 system and may very well get multiple game of the year awards. 360 had last years dominating game and is now coming out w/ 2 new game of the year contenders in Mass Effect and Bioshock. That's fact. While 360 has a super superior online system and killer games, the PS3 is still A PROMISE!

Oh, forgot to mention: All games lok better on 360 (cross platform games). Don't believe me? Go to gamespot and gamepro.com and look in the archives. They have the graphics comparisons for all to see. Plus, EA sports titles run at 60 fps on the 360 unlike the PS3 Not to mention we stole most of your exclusives like Devil May Cry and we have exclusive downloadable content for GTA4 and we will have the next Splinter Cell exclusive. Now before we go further, tell me what the PS3 has done? WHAT? Not what it PROMISES to do but what it's done? NOTHING!

PC is and will always be superior to consoles because if you have the know-how you can improve the game in every area. I have owned the latest version of Fifa for the last 4 years and some years I owned multiple copies....and I payed my hard earned money for every copy. PC gamers are the most high brow and intelligent group of gamers there are. Consoles were invented to market to the MAJORITY of people who would game and don't have the know how to run games a the thousands of varities of OS and hardware combinations. A very small minority of people drive Lamborghini, but it is still the best driving experience you can have. PC gamer's who edit the game year in and year out are the consumers of the game that have the most connection with the FIFA games series and telling us that we should buy a console because we are behind the times is laughable. My PCs hardware is 6 months old and it runs circles around the PS3 in every benchmark test. You can be ignorant, which you are, but being ignorant and rude is intolerable.
