Anyone else's "unknown" youth ever come good IRL?

so i was reading through the euro 2004 match reports etc, particularly the group phase, because i was bored today.... and i'm reading the Switzerland v France game and i see "Johann Vonlanthen" as the swiss goalscorer. now i saw this game, and i knew who the kid is... but i hadnt read it on a screen before and i vaguley remember it from somewhere. "Where have i seen that name before?" i ask myself...... then i remember. i run over to my old pc (well, walk) and sure enough.... i purchased him as a 16/17 year old from young boys on my basel game way back in the early days of CM4 :o :o :o :o :o


anyone else ever done this? im not talking about a robben/diego type youth.... but a totally unknown one IRL and in the game.

Gomez had 2 great seasons with OFI but then he had some big injuries... Too bad, he could be playing for a very good team if hadnt had those injuries

yeah obviously the usualls but people like diego n all thos other south americans are hardly unknows!

to the average CM player!


but yeah i always used to buy this amazing italian forward know as

"MACCERONI" who play for milan

then when i saw him bang all those goals n get a transfer to boro

i was well shocked!:o

I saw Pennant in the 01/02 game (I think) and he turned out to be an awesome player same with Aliadiere
