Hi guys. I don't know if this deserves its own thread, but it was one of the scariest moments on field that I've ever seen so I thought I would post it. Sevilla was playing the first match of the season against Getafe when out of nowhere, unprovoked, Sevilla's LB Antonio Puerta dropped to his knees and suffered a cardiac arrest. Ivica Dragutinovic understood what was happening immediately (thankfully) and rushed to his aid, prying open his jaw and making sure he didn't swallow his tongue.

He walked off the field minutes later, but it's been reported that his heart has stopped twice since the incident and the team's medics report that he is in critical condition. Here is a youtube video of the incident:

This is one of those moments where you realize that football is really secondary to everything else.

Wow, credit to Drago for the very first aid there. Scary indeed.

It's probably those new annoying animated adboards! damn them! :D

Props to his team mate for coming to his aid so fast.

I was convinced it was a seizure, but I guess he had a cardiac arrest. He had a second cardiac arrest in the locker room. Two cardiac arrests at such a young age (22), you've gotta wonder if he'll play again.

The good news is that he has been declared "stable," after being "unstable" all day and hooked to ventilators.

Yea just heard he is doing a bit better so that's good to hear, hopefully he keeps improving and makes a full recovery. It was crazy seeing that live.

Hopefully he will survive. But i've heard that it's something that already happened on training, can you confirm this Sevillista or any other Sevilla fans? Anyway, he's 22 and he's had 2 heart issues on one night. Talented or not, for his own sake he should be kept away from a football pitch.
