this is getting outof hand, and then people want to say that gun control is not necesary

Uh, you reckon that strict gun control would change anything? I don´t, really.

Another fabricated shooting by the neo-conservative/Mossad establishment! Don't you see what the ****en government is trying to do? They are trying to intimidate people in order to pass more "gun control" legislation, and leave our citizens unarmed against this corrupt government!

Yikes, must have sent chills down your spine.

I don't really know what to say, this isn't the first this year either...hell, it's not the first this fortnight.

The gun control issue is another thing, but if you really want to fix the problem you have to change the culture of glorified violence among the youth. For years I've been among those saying it isn't the problem, but it has to be, there's no other explanation.

As an unimportant aside, NIU's Huskie Stadium is on Chicago's list of olympic venues to host opening round soccer matches.

Stricter gun control could help, but it wouldn't stop it.. even here in Canada where we have pretty tight gun laws, people still get shot. There are other ways of getting firearms, and through illegal means might even be easier since there aren't all the hoops to jump through with permits and manditory safety courses, etc.

EDIT: They really need to work on eliminating the part of school culture where certain people are alienated because they're different in some way. I can kinda see how someone in that position would feel empowered by having a gun and taking revenge on his/her tormentors. Lucky I went to high school before this sorta thing happened, but looking back I'm a bit surprised a few people at my school didn't snap considering how they were treated. I guess back in those days, taking it out on yourself was more common.

just another "zero" individual that developed through the system. there's a reason why these things only happen in the US.

That's exactly what's going on.

We don't get much violence over here, the odd knifing.

I don't know why it's so different... oh wait, guns, that's why.

He's actually been described as an 'outstanding student' revered by staff and students alike; just didn't take his medication for some reason or another.

Which leads me to my proposal: A Peaceful America, free Prozac in schooldinners.

EDIT: Why the hell would anyone want to know the specifics of the weapons involved, isn't that just giving other nervous-wrecks inspiration and clairification on their deeds? Just like shinji said, its this glorification of violence, especially weapons, that's the problem, not the weapons themselves. Guns dont kill people, guns in the wrong hands do. :(

I just saw on CNN he bought both the gun and holster from the same online retailer that sold the gun to the men who did the shooter at Virginia Tech......again, I am going back to gun control, it wont stop it, but it sure as hell could have helped in these two tragic cases

True but problem is that criminals never register theirr guns and still have them. They just cause a lot of paperwork for 'law abiding' people like hunters, in Canada anyways.

But yah I definetely agree that it should be harder for people and teenagers or anyone other than officers to even have a gun.
